---------------------------

Everyone he knew was safe at last.

He was safe.

Honestly, that thought scared him. The idea that he finally didn't have to watch out for someone who wanted to kill him, the idea that he didn't have to worry about his gem being shattered by some-

Shattered!

Shatterer.

Sick, cruel..

You shattered her!

Disgusting...

Thoughts surrounded him in a flurry, as he remembered the petrifying scream that White made as her gem scattered onto the floor - how he felt the pain in his belly spike and how he almost doubled over, the sickening cracking sound reaching his ears as his gem-

He shook his head. He doesn't want to think about what happened; just push those thoughts away...

Steven pushed the thoughts to the back of his head, pondering what he would do now without the objective to convince White to be a better leader for homeworld.

Well, he did have some sort of objective, he supposed. He just needed to keep what happened in White's head a secret- he made Connie and White diamond swear to not utter a word about what happened; (White diamond agreed quite easily, she was painfully embarrassed about her shattering)) he didn't want to add any more stress to his friends after what they went through. They had enough on thier minds, and he wasn't about to let himself add onto their worries either.

He felt bad for putting Connie in a situation similar to Pearl and Rose, because he knew how badly Connie wanted to help him and open up to the gems about what happened. But he wasn't Pink- or Rose- she could tell them after alot of time passed. Although at the moment they made them swear for forever- but that's okay.

It's not like Connie minded that bad, he didn't ask her to fake his shattering at least, like Pink did.

Even though he did ask her to lie about the fact he shattered a gem... On purpose.

Well, he suppose he didn't exactly do it on purpose. But for some reason, something shattered inside him, and he wanted to...

He wasn't thinking very clearly.

Plus, he had another perfectly understandable reason for keeping it a secret.

He didn't want to paint White or him in a bad light and make everyone he knew be even more wary of the diamond then they already were. It would be a catastrophe if White and the others didn't get along and be untrusting of each other, considering they needed her to project peace onto the world.

They would be horrified that White pulled out his gem.

They would be ever more horrified to learn that Steven shattered her.

Even though he was able to heal her somehow,( his powers were probably at a high at the time if he could shatter a diamond) he still felt extremely bad.

Plus the mention of the fact that his gem was pulled out and cracked hurt him as well. Both mentally and physically- litteralty. His belly would ache every time he even thought of it.

He became more aware of the increasing pain around his gem- he needed to stop thinking about it right now; he let his mind drift into thoughts that he didn't like at all, and he needs to train himself to push those thoughts away.
