All I can hear are voices and all I can see are white lights. I look around and find myself in a hospital I see a doctor come my way and I ask "what happened?'' The doctor replies" well, your father, Mr Nightington, died unfortunately." At first I don't belive it and don't reply for a little bit so I can soak in the reality of what happened. I faintly responded, "I don't belive you."
Then it goes black and I can't breath, and then I get waken up by my father, "Hey champ, wake up your going to be late for practice." I scramble out of bed hurrying to get my gear on and rush down stairs. My dad is waiting at the door and I head out.
At practice I got a few more drills in and managed to impress coach enough to earn a 2nd string spot at the quaterback position. I act cool in practice, but I jump for joy when I get back home, " I AM 2ND STRING BABY!" "Woah, Terry simmer down, your gonna get cleat marks all over the house." Mom said.
2 weeks later
I am getting ready for my first game and am really excited. All I ever wanted was to be on a team and now I will be able to get to be in one, well watch, but it's better than nothing.
At the game I am sitting on the bench until I hear the anouncer yell, "OH A GINORMOUS HIT FROM THE DEFENSE A AND SHARKS QUARTERBACK JOHN STEVENSON IS DOWN AND IS NOT GETTING UP."
I hear the coach whisper, "Oh no, WHY!"
He then glances over at me and says the word, the magical words, "Terry, your in."
I am a little nervous and I head to the huddle the coach tells me, "42 boot left on one." I yell the play see the defense and see a cover 0 blitz.
At first I panic and decide to call and audible and call in quick slants.
I look up at the clock and see only 49 seconds and we are down by 4 points. We need a touchdown, a field goal won't win it, I need to come in big. I have 63 yards to go, it's my time to shine.
I come up to my post behind the center preparing for the snap. I fake a handout left to the half back and spin right to find my receiver wide open! He rushes for 20 yards and steps out of bounds to stop the clock. I have 37 seconds left and I run off a new play.
A spot which the two receivers collide in the middle and one usually loses the defender I look to find both receivers covered! I hesitated and decided to take the ball myself and run for about 6 yards.
I have 12 seconds left I have 37 yards to go. I need a deep pass, and a hole lot of luck. I run a streak were 2 receivers run straight down the field. All are covered and I take it myself! I run until a linebacker chalenges me and I make an inside spin move to make him miss. I only have 1 man to beat, it is a footrace to the end zone and I look to be beating him but he catches my leg at the 1 yard line and we have 7 seconds to go.
We need one yard and we get stuffed for 3 plays in a row and on 4th down we have inches and coach us stressing. I ask him the possibilities and he doesn't respond and I tell him to let me take it over ther top
And he agrees knowing he has no other options.I prepare for the snap and receive the snap I can't go through the middle and run around the side a defensive back comes and we dive head on to each other and then.....
