In Bellwood, Ben was sleeping peacefully in his bed before his new Omnitrix began ringing. He had an incoming call from a plumber badge. He woke up, slightly irritated at such a late call but understanding it may be an emergency picked up.
"Ben? Come in Ben. It's me, Max! I have gotten an emergency call from Galvan Prime. It's from Azmuth." Grandpa Max spoke on the receiver, seeming concerned.
"Grandpa? What's going on?" Ben responded, yawning a bit.
"A transport ship was shot down by an unknown individual, the one carrying the Ultimatrix. And now the whereabouts of the Ultimatrix are somewhere on Earth." Grandpa responded rapidly, still gathering information from the plumber HQ.
"So what? Azmuth removed the power core from the Ultimatrix shortly after I was giving this AWESOME new watch! I kept my old Omnitrix in the closet for nearly five years and nobody found it. I say let it become a lost artifact in the middle of nowhere." Ben responded to his grandfather.
"There is a problem, Ben. An hour ago Primus received an alert that the Ultimatrix has just entered recalibration mode. Somebody has reactivated it. Your ordinary person couldn't figure out a laser lance let alone the Ultimatrix. We couldn't find the exact location but a survivor of the transport ship revealed where the device crashed on Earth. I'm sending the coordinates to your Omnitrix now. And Ben... Stay safe, okay? I love you. Max out." Grandpa Max said to Ben before turning off his plumber badge.
Ben was now visibly worried. He couldn't risk Albedo or Vilgax getting their hands on the Ultimatrix. He had to take this mission alone as Rook was preoccupied with other matters. He left his bed and got dressed. He quietly walked past his parent's room before leaving through the backdoor.
Once outside, he dialed his Omnitrix and quickly turned into Jet Ray and began flying towards the coordinates.
Truthfully, Ben was more worried than he revealed to his grandfather. When he had the Ultimatrix he often had to fight feelings of power and manipulation caused by the weapon. And he never felt quite right during into the ultimate transformations. Even if an ordinary human got their hands on the Ultimatrix, they could cause danger to everybody around them.
"I can never get a break." He mumbled to himself.
