Azra excused herself to head to the bathroom.

She could no longer hold the heartbreak and she fell to the floor in a disheveled heap as her grief poured out.

"Why am I so stupid? Why can't I just accept that he will never see me the way I want him to?"

After she calmed herself for the umpteenth time,

She made sure she washed her face and wiped her tears.

She was about to head down and joined the family.

But she accidentally bumped into a hard wall, or at least that's what she thought it was.

Asfandyar Khan was standing in front of her in all his glory.

She was dumbstruck seeing him in front of her,

the one person whom she was trying to avoid.

Azra whispered a soft sorry,

as she looked at him.

She was about to walk away when he stopped her by holding her wrist.

Her heart flipped slightly, as she slowly took a peek towards his direction.

Her hazel eyes came across his stormy orbs.

"Why are you crying?" He asked gently.

She stared at him, and wondered how he knew.

"Who hurt you? I swear, I would k-" He was starting to get angry thinking someone could have hurt her, but before he could continue.

"Please, don't....I'll be fine" Azra looked at him, and gave him a small reassuring smile.

She slowly tried to withdraw her hand from his tight hold but he held it tighter.

Azra looked at him, confused.

Why did he not want to let go?

"Are you in love with someone?" He stared at her, his intensity was affecting Azra.

She was stunned by that question.

"Answer me..please" He whispered pleadingly.

as he took slow steps towards her, while she moved back.

Her back was now up against the wall,

and he was standing in front of her blocking all her ways of escape.

Their close proximity was making her heart beat so fast.

She was so affected by him, and his presence.

Unknowing to her, he was equally if not more, affected too.

"Azra, we are going home, darling!" Mrs Ali shouted from downstairs.

For some reason, she was relieved their conversation was disrupted by her mother.

"Please, I have to go." She pleaded , while he stared at her.

He nodded, and stepped aside for her to leave.

But not before saying,

"This conversation is not over, Azra".

It's been a week since the dinner. Everything was normal, well at least that's what Azra hoped.

"Darling, we have good news. We received a few marriage proposals for you." Mrs Ali said with a huge smile.

Just when Azra thought she could get back to some normalcy, the news of marriage proposals overwhelmed her.

She was dazed. How can she get married to someone she doesn't love? She clenched her fist.

Why must everything be so complicated?

"Doll, is anything bothering you?" her mother stroked her cheek, looking concerned.

Azra looked at her mother, and realised if she had to marry anyone to make her mother happy, she would.

This woman can do her no harm.

Her parents were her everything, so what if the guy isn't someone she loves.

She trusts her parents' choice and at least the marriage will happen with her parents blessing and that's important.

"I will marry whoever you choose, mom." Azra smiled weakly, as she hugged her mother.

"The Khans are coming over" Mr Ali informed everyone.

"Suddenly?" Mrs Ali asked.

"You know how Mr Khan is, he wanted to spend the night here with his family. He says the future in law needs to be closer." Mr Ali chuckled with Mrs Ali. Both of them knew how Mr Khan could get, he adored the Alis!

And within a few minutes, the doorbell rang!

"IDIOT, COME HERE!" Mr Khan hugged Mr Ali, while making their way to the cinema area.

Both Mr Khan and Mr Ali were movie buffs. They had their own cinema in their mansions and would frequently watch movies and discuss the plots with each other. Their all time favourite movies were horror movies.

Mrs Ali and Mrs Khan were already chatting about their yoga lessons and were heading to the garden.

Both of them joined yoga classes last week to embrace healthy living.

The minute Ahil set his eyes on his future wifey, he was absolutely a goner. He walked up to her and asked her if she wanted to go and grab lunch with him alone. Noor looked at her best friend, Azra.

Azra knew she felt guilty leaving Azra alone, but Azra would rather this cute couple spend time with each other. She smiled and gave Noor an encouraging nod.

Ahil and Noor then headed out, promising to get Azra the churros she wanted.

Azra smiled looking at her brother and her sis in law. May god always keep them happy always, she thought.

She was about to head back to her room to get some studying done, when she heard footsteps entering her living room.

Her heart immediately knew who it was.

What is he doing here?

Usually Asfandyar wouldn't even come to the random visits her father would suddenly arrange with the Alis because of work.

What's different this time?

She was about to pretend that she didn't hear him, and was ready to head upstairs.

"Azra."

His deep voice called out for her.

Why is that the more she tried to avoid him? The more she finds him near her.

She slowly turned around to be greeted by a man who had her heart.

His gaze was fixated on Azra.

"Bhai and Noor went out to get lunch, Mom and aunty are in the garden and you know where Pa and uncle would be." Azra said softly, and was ready to walk away.

She thought it was her duty to inform him that his best friend is busy.

"And you?" He asked her, while holding her wrist, preventing her from walking away.

She looked at his grip on her wrist, shocked.

Why is he holding her so protectively?

"I am going back to my room." She looked at him, and tried to loosen his tight grip.

"You're coming with me." He said while holding her hand, and gently pulling her towards his direction.

He was leading her to his car.

"Where are we going?" She asked him, but he didn't give a response.

He simply drove off without paying heed to her questions.
