Mom, I was gone for six months, not six years."

Ahil smiled, looking at his sweet mother, and trying to wipe her tears away at the doorstep.

"Begum, yeh tv serial nahin hai, par haan aap bahut khubsoorat lag rahi ho."

("This is not a tv serial, my wife, but you are looking absolutely beautiful")

Mr Ali exclaimed, while flirting with his wife.

It was this romantic behaviour of his that the children were used to.

In fact, both Ahil and Azra both admired that his parents' love had remained the same even after so many years had passed.

Both erupted into laughter upon seeing their parents' drama.

Ahil finally entered his home.

Boy, had he miss this place and his family.

"Choti, how are you?" Ahil smiled widely, as he hugged his sister.

Azra and him were close and Ahil was always there to protect his sister no matter what.

Azra smiled at him, and nodded.

She was absolutely happy to see him back home safe.

Ahil had finally eaten the homemade lunch by her mother.

Mrs Ali had cooked a spread of Ahil's favourite dishes. And he was so full.

"By the way, cancel all dinner plans today." Ahil announced, while washing his hands in the kitchen.

"Kyun beta? (why son?)" Mr Ali asked, while trying to steal a chocolate chip cookie, while Mrs Ali was giving him a disapproving look since her husband had diabetes.

"The Khan family has invited all of us to come for dinner, no excuses." Ahil laughed, after explaining how Mr Khan had playfully scolded him for wanting to head home straight after the flight to his own home, and not the Khan's home with Asfandyar for lunch.

Upon hearing the dinner invite to the Khan's family home, Azra felt uncomfortable. She wanted to avoid Asfandyar as much as possible, because she had too. She was alright meeting with her bestie, Noor, but the fact that it was a family dinner meant that she had to bump into Asfandyar.

"Bhai, I have quite a few chapters to study for my exam. Is it okay if I excuse myself from today?" Azra asked for permission to not come for the dinner.

Ahil laughed, "it's not that I don't allow that, lil sis, but you know how Mr Khan is, he will probably still bring Noor and drive here to pick you up." Mr Ali and Mrs Ali also burst out laughing, they know how excited and chaotic Mr Khan is.

Azra forced a smile, guess she has no choice but to come for the dinner.

"Jerk, now you remembered to visit me after I invited you and your family to dinner?" Mr Khan hugged Mr Ali, as they had a funny banter while walking to the dining area.

Mrs Ali and Mrs Khan laughed looking at their husbands, while also conversing themselves.

Azra wore a simple white salwar kameez, and had put minimal makeup for the dinner, while Ahil wore a white polo shirt and grey trousers. Both siblings looked stunning.

She saw Noor walking up to her and smiled widely, excited to catch up with her bestie. Although they spoke just yesterday afternoon.

Azra turned to look at Ahil, who was staring at Noor, completely besotted by her beauty.

She held a huge teasing smile on her face.

Azra knew how much these two were in love. Ahil and Noor were to be engaged the next month, after Ahil had confessed his love for Noor to his parents and Noor to her parents.

To be honest, Azra always had shipped both of them even before. A view that was of complete contrast from Asfandyar..

At first, it was hard for Asfandyar to comprehend that his best friend was in love with his sister, Noor but somehow he understood and trusted Ahil to take care of his sister.

Asfandyar was absolutely protective of those he loved.

And he won't hesitate to destroy anyone who dared to hurt his family.

"Are you just going to look at bhabhi, or are you going to say something?"

Azra teased her brother, as he blushed.

Noor who managed to catch the conversation was also turning red.

"I think we should get them married tomorrow itself."

Mr Khan also added to the teasing, while a roar of laughter filled the dining area.

"Where is Asfandyar?" Mrs Ali asked, she was always fond of that boy.

"Speaking of the devil, he's here." Mr Khan said.

Azra looked up and her eyes met his, the same stormy eyes which ruled her heart.

He was dressed in a black shirt, and trousers. He looked as though he was out of a vogue cover.

Also looking more buffed up than usual. The man had clearly been working out during the six months in London.

Asfandyar walked towards Mr and Mrs Ali and hugged them.

Azra couldn't help but smile, at how wholesome the moment was.

But then she immediately recalled the news of his engagement with someone else.

She quickly turned her gaze away from him.

He belongs to someone else.

She constantly reminded herself.

Throughout the dinner,

Azra stayed silent, while the rest of the family members spoke.

Her silence was noticed by someone who she wanted to avoid desperately

Asfandyar Khan's eyes were fixated on her.

He was dazed seeing her beauty,

She was even more beautiful when he left.

But he realised there was something off about her today.

Her usual bubbliness and her gorgeous smile is missing.
