STEVE, KATE, AND Robin had let Dustin and Erica sleep that night after they'd discovered the Russian elevator.

Dustin and Erica had decided it would be much easier to sleep on top of the room rather than inside it, mostly because of the lighting. After Robin had finally dozed off for a quick cat nap up there with them, Steve and Kate had been left alone, only having each other to talk to.

"You know, after everything we've been through, I never thought we'd check evil Russians off the list," Steve finally said.

Kate stifled a laugh. "Yeah, I kinda thought after alternate dimensions we'd be done."

He sighed. "If I would've known what this would lead to, I would've told Dustin to knock it off—"

"No, it's fine," she replied, moving closer to him. "This isn't like last time, you know? So it's different." Whenever he hadn't answered her, she sighed. "Steve, I'm okay."

"Kathy, that's what you said last time," he said, turning to her. "I can't take something happening like that again."

"Hey, I'm okay," she said, trying to reassure him. "I haven't had an issue since Christmas, all right?" She paused when he didn't seem convinced. "Listen to me. I'm going to be fine."

He sighed. "Okay."

"You know, I'm glad you finally listened to me about the uniform becoming a casual outfit. It looks great."
