The startled mermaid leaped out of the way just in time to miss  Lanner's arrow.
"You see,Lanner, you scared the poor thing away"
"Serves that filthy sea creature right"  Lanner hissed, dropping the bow and arrow to his hip.
The mermaid came out of the sea and his beside the high arched rock.
She took an oyster shell, opened it and put it to her ear.
"Yes,I found the elf"
Lionel settled on the sea shore and stared at the sea waves crashing near shore.
"Beautiful, isn't it?Just like that siren" Lanner said, sarcastically.
Lionel sighed. Suddenly, a purple looking gas filled the area and Lionel dropped to the ground, losing consciousness.

"Jema, you're pregnant" Ivy said, hugging her sister not minding the huge bump separating the two of them.
"How many months are you due?" Ivy asked, knowing siren gestation period weren't the same as humans.
"Very soon, the doctor said anytime from now"
Denice suddenly entered the kitchen and  laughed,
"You wouldn't be so glad if you knew how she got the cursed child"
"Its not cursed, Denice" Jema screamed.
Denice raised up her hand in mock surrender.
"Okay, okay, just saying how will your unborn child like to know its half siren, half wolf"
Ivy gasped and sparks started flying out of Jema's hair.
"Shut up,Denice" Jema screamed, her hair floated up in the water.
"Cool down,jemms" Ivy said.
Denice chuckled and left the kitchen.
"I don't know how we're related" Jemma said,sighing.
"What does Denice mean by half wolf,half-" Ivy was cut off her sentence with Jema's voice"I don't want to talk about it"
Ivy sighed and looked out the kitchen window as Jemma sliced a fat catfish open.
Ivy glanced at a seahorse grazing on the corral bush.
After an awkward silence,Jemma dropped the knife and broke the silence "You really wanna know?"
"Not really" Jemma sat on a rock covered in seaweed.
"It was after you left for the open world,I decided to try my luck at life.
Maybe,I could find love,a good life.
But I ended up in a wolves den,the kingdom of wolves I fell in live with their pack alpha and nature did the rest"
Jemma paused"he doesn't know I'm a siren yet"
Ivy sighed, she had inspired her sister to find love.
But, dangerous love.
The baby would be beast, creatures mixed with sirens never produced a healthy baby.
Only elves were compatible to breed with sirens.
Elves and vampires.
"How did Denice know?" Ivy asked.
"You know Denice,an eavesdropping low life, she heard when I was saying it to mom"
There was a long silence and Jemma spoke up"Well, aren't you going to say anything!"
"I don't know what to say"
A sharp and painful scream cut through the room to the kitchen.
Ivy and Jemma swam out of the kitchen to see Grandpa Luke on the floor choking.
"Pa Luke!"
Ryan was already on his oyster.
Oysters  connected two sirens through water currents and the currents travelled fast and conveyed information over a long distance.
All they had to do was think of the person they wanted to call and the call would go through.
But,it could only work in or near water.
Ryan's jaw suddenly dropped and the oyster dropped to the sea floor.
"Ryan, what's up,where's the siren emergency squad.
Pa Luke's choking here"
"They can't make it" Ryan murmured.
"Why,come on Ryan talk to us" Denice screamed.
"A giant seapedo is cutting its way through the open heading for us"

Veronica hopped on the carriage heading for West Tower.
She had thanked Carl for his generosity and headed for the nearest carriage heading for west tower.
But,unknown to her Carl wanted more than thanks.
He wanted her.
Since he saw her that fateful day on the sea shore,he knew he loved her.
The lali dancing on her skin was breath taking.
Her curves were magnificent.
So he his himself and swore to follow her her wherever she might go.
He put on his old coat and his old, pointed hat and followed her to West Tower.
What was she even doing in Trace city anyway?
He had heard it was a cold, ravenous place filled with mythical monsters and beasts.
But he knew they were only myths, right?
The carriage swerved to a stop as Carl pondered on the question.
Veronica alighted from the carriage and walked out.
She looked around to see high, green peaked mountains ,green lushes of paradise and a small enclave of water front homes.
Hunters,Siren hunters.
They disgusted her and her kind.
She growled under her breath and flipped the coach a silver coin.
Another man stepped out of the Carriage and stared at her.
None of her business, she needed to find pearls and sulphur rock to make concoction.
Her aunt had taught her how to make one a year ago.
It had been exactly two days since she last became a siren.
Today was the deadline and her legs were already trembling.
She walked further not knowing where her legs were taking her.
She heard a man shout in the distance and she looked in front of her to see a market.
A merchant was haggling prices with a customers.
Hasn't he heard the customers are always right?
She ran to the market and stopped at a stall.
She looked around her,a mermaid dead was hanging upside down.
A butcher cutting up a siren in cold blood.
A man held up a bottle of red liquid."Yep. Sirens blood, three days old"
Veronica almost barfed in her mouth and made her way to a stall with different sized rocks.
"Sulphur Rock"She said, scanning through her purse for two silver coin.
Carl had refilled her purse with money.
Such a gentle man.
She gave him two coins and glanced at him as he sharpened the ugly looking rock.
He handed her the rock and veronica threw it on the ground.
She then pulled him by the collar and scoffed" That isn't sulphur rock"
"It is,you crazy bitch"The merchant brought out a dagger and as quick as lightning swiped Veronica's wrist.
" Ah you idiot brute"Veronica said.
The blood from her wrist dripped onto the ground.
She thought of a spell only sirens knew.
A spell that drained every liquid in his body.
"Inhancito Malekei"she uttered and he chuckled.
" You foolish hag, don't you know Arrgh!"He dropped to the ground, becoming dry and pale.
He finally let out a sharp cry and shut his eyes.
She looked around, none seemed to notice.
She started to strip his clothing and took her coins from his coat pocket.
She finally spat on his face and left.
No one  seemed to notice anything or so she thought.
