Greece, 1979
I'm sitting outside near the pool at a villa Rick and I rented in Mykonos. I had put the kids to sleep, and Rick had to be asleep as well. He was so exhausted by the end of that day. But I couldn't sleep. My mind was filled with too many racing thoughts to close my eyes and doze off, one of the main thoughts being about my life.
Now, I'm not saying I don't enjoy being married, or that I don't love my kids, but I do miss the good old days when I was in my twenties. London might not be the prettiest city, but the mod subculture and the British invasion added a new color and brightness to it.
I yearned to go back, but obviously, I couldn't. I guess I'd just have to be content with the memories.
