A week passed and everything went downhill, Haley was tired, lightheaded, and frail. June 4, She and her mother loaded up in the car and drove to the doctors office. They walked in, checked in, got her blood drawn, and drove home fighting sleep. Around 8 pm, Tana got a devastating and life changing phone call. Haley had sat down to watch some TV before taking the 5th nap of the day. Her mom walked into the room with tears in her eyes. "Honey, we need to talk" "Whats up?" Haley said in confusion. "Honey, the doctor called and somethings wrong. We need to go to the hospital." Tana said as a tear slid down her cheek. "Mom, your scaring me." Haley said with panic rising in her throat. "Baby, they think it cancer." Cancer.. that word hit Haley like a train. Cancer... the disease that takes loved ones away. Cancer... no hair, no friends, and possibly no life. Haley stood up, walked to the front door, opened it, and went outside. She sat down on the step and began to sob. A noise of the door came behind her and her two sisters, Riley and Shelby, sat down on either side of her. "Hey, look at me." Shelby said "You WILL beat this, ok?" "ok" Haley said looking to the ground. She could hear the pain in her sister's voice. "Don't let this stupid disease stop you ok? you're a beast" said Riley. they both gave her a tight squeeze and then stood and went inside. There we muffled sobs and her dads voice could be heard, "She is so strong, she can do this." Could she? She asked herself. She collected herself, and went in the house. "Mom, I love you." Haley said trying to keep the tears from enveloping her. She then hugged every family member and pet, not knowing if she'd ever see any of them ever again.
