"Life like is a, life like is as a, life like is as a fairytale~" (Y/n) sang to herself as she gave the screw to the scientist she was currently helping out.

"Are you seriously singing a Barbie song while helping me on my experiment? If i knew I wouldn't have asked you for help, sea girl." Senku said scoffing at your childishness.

"And how did you knew the song was from barbie?" You asked raising an eyebrow at him.

"You watch that shit ass movies 24/7 and even forced me to watch some Disney movies." Senku deadpanned.

"Bitchass you liked Big Hero 6. Oh oh! Senku do you think you can make Baymax?" You eagerly asked inching closer to the scientist as he playfully shoved you away causing you to groan.

"Not my current focus is on robotics right now." Senku stated rolling his eyes. He would never admit to you that but the creations there peaked his interest indeed.

"Senku if mythical beings are real, Which one will you want to study the most?" You asked leaning on your hand.

"Mermaids." Hearing this you falter.

"I see.. What for?" You asked once again.

Senku glanced at you for a moment confused why press on the matter but still answered anyways.

"Their existence made more sense than other creatures. Remember the aquatic ape theory we watch? Sure it can be debunked anytime. But we are still not sure after all. You said it yourself that millions of years has passed and the ocean is still not fully discovered." Senku replied as he screwed in a part of the device before making sure that nothing was out place.

"If you ever meet one. What will you do?" You asked once again looking at the scientist.

"Most logical answer is to capture them and run some tests. But I'll prefer observation and understanding them more. Science is a slow progress after all." Senku replied as you smiled.

'Maybe you don't need to capture one. You already have one tailing after you.' You smiled at the thought bringing a hand up to your neck.

Your gills was starting to show.

*A few days ago*

Summer vacation has started and on the first day you're already out in the ocean. Enjoying the cooling water it has to offer and beauty underneath.

After having a good swim you decided to submerge yourself underwater slowly closing your eyes enjoying the sound of splashing near the shore, the bubbling of bubbles within the water, the splashes of people diving in, and the distant laughter of your friends.

Smiling to yourself lost within the calmness of the sea. You inhaled.

But instead of water infiltrating your lungs there was nothing.

Snapping your eyes wide open you sharply inhale once again expecting to be choked by the water entering your lungs but once again there was none.

Deciding this was getting weird, you swam back ashore. Hearing your friends callout to you.

"Hey (Y/n)! See something interesti- Are you okay?" The question was cut off when (F/n) (friend's name) noticed something.

"Yeah, yeah.. I'm alright you respond." You respond giving them a reassuring smile.

"Did you get cut by something? You look like you have a cut on your neck you better clean that up." (F/n) said as they pointed at your neck.

Hearing this you put a hand on the side of your neck only to gasp in realization that those weren't cuts.
