The next morning Midorima was awoken by the sound of his phone ringing. he flipped open the screen - a text. The moment he saw that the text was from Takao, he sat upright, and opened it. A short mail. 'Mornin'. Sorry for worrying you.' was all that it said.

That idiot, he should worry more about himself -nanodayo.

Midorima washed up and changed up as quickly as he could, to go and visit Takao.

When he had arrived, Takao was sitting up against the wall, reading manga, and his mother was there peeling an apple. "Yo, shin-Chan." Takao greeted Midorima like he would everyday, with a smile on his face. Did he know about his injury and how long it would take to recover?

"Good morning. How's your injury -nanodayo?"

"Yaaa... back then I seriously thought I was about goner. Hahaha, it really hurt a lot. Ah, but if it wasn't for Shin-chan's first aid, maybe I wouldn't have made it." Takao said with that same laid-back attitude. A spark of fury bubbled within him. Why can't he take things more seriously? He could have died back there.

"I see, have you heard from the doctor how long it would take for your wound to recover?" For a second, Midorima saw a flash of sadness and anger across his face.

"Yes, I have. Ahaha apparently I would be out for about 2 to 3 weeks, don't get too lonely in school this few days," Takao said with his usual casual voice, but then a second later his smile faded, "but you seriously think I would actually not play in winter cup? Even if I have to down a whole bottle of aspirin, I'm playing."

It felt as if a wave of fury flooded him. "Our senpais are strong, we don't need to put an injured player on the court -nanodayo."

"You know who we are playing in our first match right?! That team uses under-hand methods! More than any match, you need me for this one."

"No! Your not playing. I'm not going to let you risk your life on the court -nanodayo."

"Why? It has nothing to do you with right, Shin-chan?"

That sentence just filled Midorima up with fury, like a barrel filled with overflowing water. "I caused this, this is my responsibility. So why don't you blame me for it -nanodayo?"

"Well, I was the one that jumped in-front of you, so I'll take responsibilities for my own actions."

That sentence just made Midorima snapped. He was filled with so much anger that it feels like it doesn't matter anymore. "Ah, is it? So your saying none of this is my fault? Ok, then, take care." And he just walked out of the room and slammed the door.

That shocked Takao. "What was he so angry about? And wait, it's probably the first time I heard him say a sentence without adding a 'nanodayo' at the back." He wondered out loud.

His mother, who was quiet the whole time, said "Well, you know, Kazu-chan, he was really really worried about you. You should go apologize. He's probably blaming himself the whole time."

Takao laid back and thought about the scene where Midorima was all frantic while applying first aid. Somehow Takao felt that Midorima's frantic and about to cry expression was beautiful.

Maybe I should go apologize...

Takao was released on Tuesday, after he got his stitches removed. He went to school like normal, and told everyone who asked him why he was absent on Monday that he caught a cold. When he went to his seat, he found a weird book underneath his table - "Me and Dog" it read.

"Hey! Is Takao here today?" shouted Suzuki, a student from the same grade, while flapping a notebook around.

"Here here!" Takao said while walking towards him, "Whats that? Ah my homework? Sankyuu na."

"Ah, sensei actually looks kinda sad that you weren't in class on Monday. Apparently without your bickering he feels lonely. Take care, yea? Haha." Suzuki said while giving Takao a pat on the back. Takao could feel a small sharp pain coming from his wound.

Suddenly a hand grabbed hold of Suzuki's arm, "Oi be careful -nanodayo." It was Midorima. Takao was half shocked. After that hospital visit from Midorima, things was left off on a sour note. He didn't think that Midorima would actually come near him. After all, Midorima is a pretty awkward person is general.

"What's with you man? His not going to break apart cause I gave him a pat." Suzuki rebutted. But Midorima just pushed up his glasses and walk away. It was still awkward to be around Takao, especially after what had happened in the hospital.

The week had gone by smoothly, without any problems during practice. Although, the only difference was that he didn't stay back for extra practices after normal practice hours. Everyday, however, Takao would find strange things underneath his table. Sometimes it was normal things like a clear file with an idol picture printed on it, some times it was weird stuffs like a funny looking specs. But Takao knew what it was for. He was grateful, truly.

Monday came, and it was now time for winter cup.
