Story 1. Immortal husbands that join servers and pretend to not be married to see how long it takes everyone to realise. They join hermitcraft and well-
All was quiet, it had been for a while really. There was not a whole lot to do around the mansion anymore. The place was flooded with empty rooms and silence. To an outsider, it would seem like life just didn’t exist there, a home that lacked any trace of being homely. The only reason they really stayed put here was that it was where they’d first met.
Their first kiss was up in one of the many bedrooms albeit a small, timid one but gosh was it a sentimental house for them, filled with many memories just like that one. Not so much a house but more like a personal museum of their past together, and that meant far more than either could ever put into words.
A marker of all their stepping stones as they grew together and learnt just how much they’d want to entangle their lives with one another.
The perfect place that encaptured just how enthralled they’d become and how much they continue to do so… Looking back everything felt so long ago.
How many years had it been by now? It never seemed to matter where they were or what they were doing, it was simply just being together that made them so thankful that they got the chance to do this for the rest of forever. Right now that just meant cuddling up near one of the fireplaces, practically tangled together underneath their blanket.
“Are you going to take up the offer?” Grian asks softly, adjusting himself slightly in Mumbo’s grasp so he can look at him.
“I don’t know yet…” He sighs, not looking towards Grian. His gaze firmly rested on the fire instead.
He lets out a small hum, before allowing himself to continue.“I think you should do it.”
“And what about you?”
“There are worlds I’ve been meaning to visit. Don’t let me stop you.”
Mumbo places a kiss on Grian’s forehead. He was never a fan of leaving him behind to go join another world. They’d done stuff like this before but it was so long ago now that they both ended up integrating with a new friend group.
“I can see if they’ll let you in. They do have a fair few builders there you know.” He begins to rub Grian’s back. Leaving him behind was a hard task even after so long. Years feel short when you live as long as they have done and yet it was still hard to think about parting ways even for a few years.
“Sure! I’ll be able to send you mail anyway so it’ll be ok. If you want to join them, do it.” He smiles sincerely up at his husband. Of course, he knew how protective he gets but this was a rare chance for him to find other people who got the whole redstone stuff he enjoyed. Getting in the way of that wasn’t something he ever wanted.
After a while of discussing it, they went back to just silently cuddling, enjoying the time they’d get together before they went off on separate adventures.
_____________“Welcome to Hermitcraft, Mumbo!”
Gosh, it was such a blur since then… He wasn’t too talkative around strangers so he didn’t really speak to many of the members that they had already. Grian was usually the only one who managed them being social and controlled that aspect knowing how uncomfortable it made him. It made him miss the man so much, not having him next to him at night, not having someone just randomly come cuddle him simply because they wanted to… It made him rather sad the more time he spent away.
The hermits put it down to loneliness but realistically it was more just yearning to go back to his partner, his love, the one he held dearest to him... He missed him so much.
