Love it when you say, "I don't care".
It feels like I'm surrounded, but there's nobody there.
We don't need to start over.
Love it when you say, "Don't fear".
And I pretend like I'm scared enough to be,
Excuses for you to cover me with your arms once more.
I still love it when you call my name,
Pretend like we're outsiders, and fireflies.
Blink in and blink out, but scared to death to admit that we're in love.
Yet all I'm able to do is hallucinate you.

["Outsiders and Fireflies" indicates a certain sort of fear and physical pain for a non-existent relationship. The writer faces visual hallucination, the kind that has so much impact on his imagination, he believes to be in love with someone who is optimistic, and just perfect for the writer, the kind of person who does not care what others think but care what is right for themselves.]
