Chapter 2 - 1: Abyssal

You were lost in this attic like space, the dim lights barely illuminating the floor. You take out your flashlight and start looking for a way out.

After what seemed like ages, you stumble across a door that had signs all over it. You look at one and read it.

'Beware the smiling ones'

You gulped and reluctantly opened the door. You were greeted with an even darker room. But you could make out what it was supposed to represent. It looked like an old warehouse. Like one you used to work at. Only this time there isn't the sound of some fat guy yelling about his car needing to be fixed, such relief.

You facepalm and start to walk around. You did find helpful items along the way, a few almond water bottles and granola bars, even a hammer. You smile and pick it up without hesitation. It could be useful later.

You were starting to get tired of walking so you made a quick makeshift bed out of your backpack and some sheets that were covering up some appliances. You wrap yourself up in a cozy blanket and start to close your eyes.

Not long after you were half asleep you started to hear growling coming from the far side of the room. You look up and don't see anything. You look puzzled and try to go back to sleep.

Again, the same noise, this time it was closer. You shot up and backed into a wall. But there was nothing. It was pitch black. You grab your flashlight and shine the room, nothing.

You sit back down again and start to close your eyes one more time.

"Run."

Your eyes immediately shoot open and you stand up, forgetting everything except your flashlight. You ran and didn't look back. You kept running and running. Something was chasing you, you could hear its footsteps behind you.

You take a chance and look behind you for a split second. All you saw was a wide white smile.

"SHIT!!!" You exclaimed as you downed some almond water to increase your stamina again. You were about to be running for a while.
