The day went by a little too quickly leading up to potions. The entire walk there my feet felt like cinder blocks, as i dragged myself down to the dungeons for our last class of the day. Just the thought of seeing Draco was starting to make my stomach lurch.
I walked in with my head down, dreading the moment I'd see him, but as I made my way to where we usually sat, I looked up to see the space empty. I exhaled with relief and took my seat as Snape began class.
I looked over at Ember and she mouthed Where's Draco? To me. I shrugged and looked back down at my book of potions, trying not to worry about him anymore.
Class went by quickly, and before I knew it, I was walking out with Ember, Theo, Blaise, and Pansy.
"Three Broomsticks tonight?" Blaise asked us all and Theo gave him a playful shove.
"Is that even a question?" he said, as Blaise shoved him back, both of them laughing and walking ahead of us.
Ember threw her arms over mine and Pansy's shoulders, "Are you ladies ready for a good night?" she asked, squeezing the two of us close to her. I couldn't help but smile. If there was anyone that could put me in a good mood it's Ember.
"I'm definitely ready for a night out. Round on me to apologize for last weekend?" Pansy said, pushing out her bottom lip in a fake pout.
Ember and I laughed, rolling our eyes at her, "Okay okay," we said. "Next time put a sock on the door," I teased, sticking my tongue out at her, making her cheeks go pink.
The thought of her and Draco flooded my mind again, and I felt my heart skip a beat. Gross. I shook the thought from my head, bringing myself back to our conversation.
"Besides, I don't even like Draco, I was just trying to make Blaise jealous," Pansy said, shrugging her shoulders. "It sounded like a good idea in my head at the time."
Ember linked her arms with mine and Pansy's as we got back to the common room, "Okay let's not do that again," she said and we all laughed
We walked up to our dorm, giggling with each other, and as we walked into our dorm we all gasped. The entire place had been ransacked. All three beds were flipped over, the pillows torn through, and all of our belongings scattered on the floor.
"What. The. Fuck." Ember said, taking a step into the chaos, her foot pushing a broken mirror out of the way as we all looked around in awe of the mess.
"Who would have done this?" Pansy asked, picking up a broken picture frame, the image of her family inside was forced into the only corner that wasn't cracked.
I shook my head looking around, "I don't know, is anyone missing anything?" I asked, pulling my wand out to start fixing the mess as the other two girls shook their heads at me. I nodded back, mumbling the incantation, "Reparo," as the other two followed my lead.
"Well, that fucking sucked," Ember said after we finally put the room back together after fifteen minutes. "Let's not let that ruin our night though, that seems like a problem for tomorrow us," she said, and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yeah whatever we'll deal with that tomorrow, let's get ready to get fucked up," I said, waving my wand to put on some music for us to get ready to.
The three of us all decided on mini skirts, fitted long sleeve tops, and knee-high boots since it was beginning to frost outside with fall fading into winter. We quickly waved our wands, producing glamors to do our hair and make-up with.
After we were all finally ready, Pansy produced a bottle of firewhiskey from her armoire, "Let's take a shot before we meet the boys," she said, pouring the caramel-colored liquid into small glasses for us.
I held my glass up and the other two girls met it with their own, "To a good night?" I said and Ember laughed. "To a GREAT night!" she said, clinking our glasses together, as we all threw our heads back, taking the shot.
The heat traveled all the way down, as the fiery liquid made its way to my stomach, and the sudden warmth boosted my confidence.
I tucked my wand into my boot and grabbed Ember's and Pansy's hands, dragging them towards the door, "Let's go, I'm ready to partyyyy!" I said, all of us falling out the door laughing.
As we left the castle, the cold air nipped our noses, and we all huddled closer as we walked hand in hand into Hogsmeade.
As the welcoming light of The Three Broomsticks came closer, I started to get butterflies. I silently prayed that Draco wouldn't be there as Ember opened the door, the warmth from inside enveloping us like a hug.
As soon as we stepped inside, I breathed a sigh of relief, seeing Blaise and Theo sitting at a table alone waiting for us.
"We already ordered you ladies a round of butterbeers," Theo said, before kissing Ember as she sat down next to him.
"Thank Merlin," Pansy said, taking a seat next to Blaise and immediately taking a huge gulp out of hers.
I laughed, sitting down with my back to the door, and took a big gulp from mine as well. "Bottoms up, Pans," I said, as I pulled the beer stein away from my lips.
We all finished our round, talking and laughing about our week and just enjoying each other's company.
As we got our second round, Blaise groaned, "I meant to order a round of firewhiskey as well, I'll be right back," he said, getting up and walking to the bar.
Pansy looked at me, leaning over, a tipsy look in her eyes, "Do you think he likes me," she whispered and I giggled. "How could he not?" I said, pushing a piece of her hair out of her face and behind her ear as a tinge of pink splashed her cheeks. She smiled at me, satisfied with my answer, as she leaned back.
Blaise walked back over with another butterbeer and six shots of firewhiskey, setting all of them down on our table as he took his seat again.
"Damn Blaise, you must be thirsty since you got an extra shot and another butterbeer for yourself," I pointed out while laughing, prompting a laugh from everyone else as well.
"Oh those aren't for me they're for him," he said, pointing behind me, causing my stomach to drop. I knew who I was about to see before I even turned around in my seat.
Draco.
I got a chill down my spine as I looked at him from head to toe, noticing he was wearing another black suit. I hated to admit it but he looked good.
"I have to go to the bathroom," I mumbled as I stood up so abruptly the entire table shook.
As I walked as fast as I could towards the ladies' room, my hands shaking as I thought about seeing Draco. I immediately locked myself in a stall and put the toilet cover down, sitting on top of it. I tried to control my breathing as best as I could but it seemed impossible as my heart felt as though it was beating a mile a minute.
Suddenly the bathroom door opened and I heard the lock slide shut before footsteps slowly made their way toward me, finally stopping when they were in front of my stall.
"You can't hide from me, darling."
