Chapter Five Dawn's 3nd Encounter with the Clown

Dawn's POV

The next morning I and Richie got ready to meet the losers at the parade "hey Dawn do you want to come with me to get ice cream?" Eddie asked me "sure we'll be back guys," I said waving to them me and Eddie were at the ice cream stand we got ice cream for me and Richie " hey Dawn how did you first learn you had control over water?" Eddie asked "well one day when I was little and I was with another foster family I was doing the dishes and I dumped a cup of water but when I held one of my hands out the water just started to float after that I just started to practice with water and now I am really good at my control," she said to Eddie.

"Wow that's cool," he said I smile we get back to the others and I see Bill lifting a missing poster to show Betty Ripsoms poster "What are you guys talking about?" asked Eddie then Richie said, "What they always talk about." I hit him in the back of the head "it's like she's been forgotten just because of Eddie C-C-Corcoran missing" Bill said "I think it will end soon or at least for a while?" said Ben Beverly looked at him and asked, "what do you mean".

Ben's POV

I look at the gang then at Bill I don't want to say anything about his bother "I was going over all my Derry research and I charted out all the big events. The Ironworks explosion in 1908, the Bradley gang in thirty-five, and then the Black Spot in sixty-two, and now kids..." getting a sad smile from Bill "I realized this stuff seems to happen every―twenty-seven years." said me, Bill, and Dawn.

We all went to sit under the Paul Bunyan statue " so what it comes out for what a year and eats kids the goes into asleep for 27 years?" said Eddie "yeah it sounds like those one bugs what are the called Cicadas and they come out every 17 years" Stan said.

Mike's POV

My grandfather thinks this town is cursed" I said to everybody "why does he think that Mike?" said Dawn looking at me "well he thinks that all the bad that happens in this town is because of one thing" I said to the group "it can't be one thing it just can't we all saw something different" Stan said looking at me "maybe maybe not but I think it uses our worst fears to scare us" I said

"I saw a leper it was like a walking infection and Dawn saw all of us it felt so real it hard to get that out of your head," Eddie said to him and Dawn "but you two didn't see those things because it not real not Eddie's leper, Bill seeing Georgie or the women I keep seeing," said Stan

"Was she hot?" Richie said I rolled my eye and shook my head at him.

Stan's POV

"No she wasn't Richie her face was a mess," I said "well I know the difference between real and not said Mike "what did you see you saw something too," said Beverly we all look at him waiting for his answer "You guys know that burnt down house on Harris Ave?" he said "yeah I heard a family died there it was horrible" Dawn said with a sad look on her face looking back at Mike.

"Well, I was inside when it burnt down. Before I was rescued, my mom and dad were trapped in the next room over from me. They were pushing and pounding on the door...trying to get to me...but it was too hot" he continued Dawn put her hands over her mouth Eddie was next to her and gadded her hand she smiled back at him telling him I'm okay "When the fireman finally found them the skin on their hands had melted down to the bone we are all afraid something" he said to all of us "you got that right" Richie said while looking away from the group "what are you scared of Richie?" said Beverly "clowns I am scared of clowns" he said to us.

Dawn's POV

We all went home for a good night's rest because we are all meeting at Bill's house tomorrow so I and Richie were riding our bikes home "hey Dawn I'm sorry" he said to me "what do you mean what are you sorry for" I said back " about you being an orphan I shouldn't have said that to tell you the truth I can't want to have you has my sister" he said with a smile.

" It's okay Richie I know now that you didn't mean it I can't wait to have you have my bother," I said back to him we got home and went straight to bed I woke up to Richie shaking me up" come on we have to get to Bill's house," he said then left my room

I got dressed then left the house road our bikes to Bill's garage we were like the last ones there "where were you guys?" said Mike " we would have been here earlier but someone wouldn't wake up" Richie said looking at me "fuck off Richie I can't help I like to sleep in" I said back.

We all got in our seats I at right between Richie and Eddie Mike closed the garage door and Bill turned on the projector.

Bill's POV

We are looking at the map of the town but underneath it was a map of the sewers "look that's where G-G-Georgie disappeared." I said while I was saying that I heard Eddie taking a hit of his inhaler there were the Ironworks and The Black Spot on the map "it looks like the sewers all lead to the" Dawn started to stay until Ben finished for her "The Well house!" he yelled.

He looks at me and I nod "that's where I and Dawn saw the clown" Eddie said before taking another hit "you mean that creepy old house where all the junkies and hobos like to sleep?" Richie said Beverly look at me and said "I hate that place. I always feel like it's watching me." she shakes after.

"That's w-where I-it lives," I said looking at the projector "I can't take this anymore it's summer we should be doing summer stuff not talking about killer clowns or haunted houses" Eddie yelled at me before taking the map down "w-what the h-hell put that back," I said but she shook his head no.

After that the projector started to flicker and switch from photo to photo it showed pictures of me, Georgie, and Mom and Dad while I am looking at the photos it's stops at the one that has the wind blowing in my mom's face but her face starts to change into the clown after.

I hear Beverly screaming "turn it off!" then once again" TURN IT OFF!" Mike comes up and kicks the projector to the ground.

Dawn's POV

As soon as Mike kicks the projector to the ground we see the clown again then it was gone I was starting to get confused then the projector came back to life and out came the clown with really sharp teeth it started to charge the others to the door of the garage but then I saw it was going after Beverly I got mad and turned on the water in the sink and made a water whip and hit the clown in the back of the head

To get it away from Beverly so now it was coming after me I hear Eddie scream "Dawn!" I hey the clown one more time before Ben and Mike open the garage door I look away for a minute because of the light but when I look back at the others the clown is gone.

I saw Eddie running at me and pulling me into a hug "are you okay?" he said, "I'm okay how about you Eddie?" I said back "fine" that was all he said we walk to the garage door to see Bill leaving I get on my bike and follow him the last thing I hear is Richie and Beverly screaming our names.
