The human world.

From listening around, Jemma had been able to pick up the information that Alex was holding a memorial party for Jack at his house.

And Billy and Harry would also most definitely be there.

Instead of riding to the house on her motorcycle, she opted to walk instead. She didn't want anyone seeing her motorcycle and getting suspicious. Also, Jemma kept the motorcycle helmet on her head. She didn't want anyone to see her as a demon. She had heard about human disguises, but it wasn't something she herself was able to do yet.

Jemma walked up to the house. Just like last time, she saw flashing lights and heard loud music. The only difference this time was a large banner that read "For Jack".

Jemma tightened her grip on the knife in her pocket and headed inside.

———

The motorcycle helmet restricted her sight, but not too bad that she couldn't see where she was going.

She looked around. The three boys she was looking for were nowhere in sight. She swore under her breath. She continued her search, but it yielded no findings.

Jemma tried to think. They might be in Alex's room. She shuddered at the idea of going back there. Knowing what he did to her there. But it would be worth it to watch Alex die.

Jemma climbed the stairs up to the second floor, and walked toward Alex's room.

But Jemma stopped when she heard a girl softly sobbing. The sound was coming from a closet she had just passed.

Jemma turned toward the closet and opened the door.

Sitting on the closet door was a girl maybe a year or two younger than Jemma. The girl's face was soaked with tears. She had a black eye on her left side and bruises around her neck.

The girl looked up at Jemma and whimpered, trying to shrink away.

Jemma crouched down and looked the girl in the eyes. "What's your name?"

The girl looked up. "M-Mandi."

"Mandi," Jemma said, "who did this to you?"

The girl named Mandi looked down, as if trying to hide her black eye. "N-Nobody. I... t-tripped."

Jemma repeated the question. "Who did this to you?"

Mandi seemed to sense that Jemma wasn't letting up, and she answered. "M-My boyfriend."

"Why?" Jemma asked, feeling rage build up inside her.

"He's been drinking all night... and when I tried to get him to stop... he... beat me..." Mandi cried again.

"What's his name?" Jemma demanded.

"T-Tommy," Mandi said.

"What does he look like?"

Mandi pulled out her phone and showed Jemma the Lock Screen. It was a picture of Mandi with a boy who Jemma assumed was Tommy.

Jemma nodded. "I'll be back."

"Wait-" Mandi said, but Jemma had already left.

———

The image of Tommy had been seared into Jemma's mind. She looked for him around the party and finally found him near the drink table, holding a half-empty cup of beer.

Jemma walked up to him, touched his arm, and tried to make her voice sound as sexy as possible. "Tommy?"

The drunken bitch turned toward her, his eyes suddenly hungry. "That's me."
