Weston lay motionless against the cold, damp carpeting of the liminal space. The air was scentless yet stale, slightly heavy to breathe in. Kalynn sat against the yellow wallpaper of the hallway they resided in. She slid her fingers against an off-white electrical outlet with eyes wide, vision blurry from all the thoughts that ran through her head. *How did the two end up here?*
"This one is for the boys with the booming system..." Weston groaned, getting up from the carpet.
"Okay..." Kalynn coughed up like some aged millennial driving to Target for that weekly restock of Disney merchandise, "...so that just happened."
The siblings had just taken their first sip of the regular when they had completely blacked out from out of nowhere. That should explain why Weston had one of Kalynn's air freshener car deco things tucked in between his fingers.
"...What do we do?" Weston babbled, voice breaking underneath the inconsistently placed fluorescent orbs of light.
The two began to make their way to the room right next to the dead-ended one they had spawned in. The only sound to be heard was the faint buzz of a constant frequency and the occasional shaky breath of either one of the siblings. They had to break the silence at some point anyways.
"How do you think Dan and Phil would escape the backrooms?" Weston sighed.
Kalynn responded with a shrug, almost letting out a light chuckle though it would've been inappropriate given the situation. She wore a pair of blue washed-out jeans and a sage green tank top, looking out of place in contrast to the patterned rooms. Weston wore a graphic tee with a teary, beet-up (beetroots surrounding the circle graphic) Eleven from Stranger Things paired with jeans unidentical to the pair his sister was rocking.

"Well, they'd—like—obliterate everyone here!" Kalynn explained indeed very professionally.
"Right," Weston nodded vigorously, "Like they're playing croquet with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson."
Though they remained relatively silent (compared to the siblings' usual demeanour), they both shared the same vision of Dan and Phil slaying the backroom's walls down with ease.
"...Do you think Ben might be here?" Weston whispered, stopping in his tracks.
"Ben like the dog...?" Kalynn shivered at the thought of the boss appearing there.
Weston nodded, shaking.
"That can't happen." she said firmly, "Paris wouldn't allow us to think like that."
Her brother nodded, more sure this time, continuing to walk beside his sister. The moist yellow carpet stank of something sour, which was definitely unpleasant and rather foul.
"Oh crap, the carpet juices just splashed all over my socks..." Kalynn cried, wiggling her leg unusually.
"At least we have something to slurp on if we're ever thirsty," Weston chimed in a cartoony voice as he squelched the flooring with the heel of his shoe.
"Oh, eww," Kalynn shook her head.
