For the next few days, Cedric has been asking me to see him practice for Quidditch every time he sees me. He understood how much I dislike his friend group, so he'd always talk to me alone. Though I hated how clingy he already is before the game, I enjoyed his accompany little by little.
I did notice that Cho Chang has been trying to engage in a conversation with me lately. Maybe it's because she saw Cedric being like a puppy trying to follow me around. She was nice when we talked again, but it became less likable when she started mentioning Diggory.
"Please watch me practice this evening," This was the 20th time he asked me. This guy is really trying to get on my real nerves.
"So you can show off how bad you are?" I asked sarcastically, hinting that he was about to get punched in the head if he doesn't stop asking.
He shook his head at that and grabbed my notebook away from my hands, holding it high in the air. Sometimes I hated how tall he is. I look at him with fire in my eyes, so ready to shout at him until I hear his friends shouting his name from a distance. I sighed at this and quickly asked him to give me that book back very kindly. He was very much in advantage and gosh, I hate his smirk that still made him look like a nice person.
"Well? You have 10 seconds to say yes before my friends come over,"
I groaned at this and pulled down the sleeve of his robes, snatching my notebook back, and said, "Alright, fine!" He looked stupid when he smiled at my response. "Satisfied now, aren't you?"
"Mhm." With that, his friends shouted his name once again, making me look at them for a second and saw how they were now running towards the two of us.
Without saying anything, I scowled at him and quickly walked away, heading right towards the Charm class, hearing his 'mates' teasing him about how close we seemed now. Gross.
Once I got in right on time as the class was about to start, I took a seat beside one of the Ravenclaw students and noticed that they were already smiling at me. Awkwardly, I returned the smile and placed down my notebook, a bit excited to cast spells.
"You're (y/n), right? I heard from Cho Chang," The Ravenclaw that's beside me asked. When I look at them, they were flipping the book pages already without facing me. "I'm surprised to say that this might be the first time I've seen you around."
Ah great. Another obstacle—
"Silvius. August Silvius." They finally raised their head and smiled once again, "You're pretty."
Did they really just say that? Gosh, I don't know if I should thank them or just move to another seat. "Thank... you?"
They laugh at that as they shook their head, slightly red. "Sorry. It's just that– I always say what's on my mind." Hearing that they meant well, I smile. I've never been complimented by anyone here and since my father passed away.
August had a nice vibe to be around even when you first met them. I don't know if I'm playing favorites or not, but I like them already. Maybe it's because they complimented me, or it's just their face that looked easy to read. All this said platonically, of course.
Throughout Charm class, we both corrected each other whenever we say a spell wrong, and I loved it. Interacting with a person whose serious yet nice at the same time was what I expected to get when I first got to Hogwarts. I felt a part of me becoming attached to August when they said they wanna live a normal life like muggles, and oh boy, we became besties already since that class. We closed our books together, stand up together, and got out of class together.
We had to separate for our next class, so we promised to eat lunch together later in the Great Hall.
"Bye, (y/n)." They waved their hand as they walked in the opposite direction, and I waved back, smiling like an idiot.
