Chapter 15

[ still on the riverdale, at the Jones' trailer, Jughead was there alone and decided to call Fred Andrews ]

J-"Hello, Mr Andrews"
F-"Hi, Jughead, is everything okay?"
J-"Yes, actually no..uhmm yes.."
F-"Yes or no?"
J-"No, my father..I think he's a bit mad after your call"
F-"He will get over it, don't worry"
J-"Yeah I know but.."
F-"There's no but..you don't have to be worried if your father learnt something about our call or not, he won't, trust me"
J-"I just feel guilty for going against him..I mean he's my father, I shouldn't say anything"
F-"No, Jughead you did the right thing..and I'm actually surprised that you took Hal's side and not your father's.."
J-"I know but then I thought about Mr Cooper.. he doesn't deserve to get hurt like this and I'm sure Mrs Cooper doesn't want that either..I just thought that my father still wanna be a friend with Hal Cooper instead of thinking how to stole his wife..cause that's what he thinks"
F-"Yeah I know and I'm very glad for the way you're thinking, now about your father..I will see what can I do"
J-"Just don't hurt him"
F-"Don't worry about that"
J-"Okay and thanks for not telling anything to my father"
F-"No problem, I meant it when I said that who told me about it, will stay between us and only"
J-"Yeah thank you again Mr Andrews"

Jughead hanged up..

FP-"With who were you talking?"
J-"Uh with Betty..We said to meet at Pop's so I gotta go now"
FP-"Okay"

Meanwhile at the Cooper's house,

Alice made a video call with Hal..

A-"Hi again"
H-"Hi.."
A-"How do you feel?"
H-"I'm fine..still in pain but fine"
A-"Be patient, you'll get over the pain"
H-"Hope so btw how are you?"
A-"I'm fine too, just tired you know"
H-"Why don't you go to rest?"
A-"Betty and Polly wanted to talk to you and I couldn't go to rest"
H-"Okay fine, where are they?"
A-"Here"
P&B-"Hey dad"
Betty grabbed the phone from Alice..

B-"So dad when are you gonna come here?"
H-"Soon I hope, but don't worry I will be there when it's your birthday"
B-"That's great..and how are you?"
H-"I'm fine..you know just a bit in pain after the surgery but it's okay, what about you, honey?"
B-"I'm fine but still worried about you"
H-"You don't have to be worried about anything, I told you I'm fine"
B-"As long as you're still in some hospital in the New York or whenever else, I have every right to be worried"
H-"Right but it happens, it's life anyways"
B-"Well I don't like it"
H-"Honey, bad things happen, it's unfair, I know but it happens, we can't change it.. unfortunately"
B-"Yeah I know but when life is gonna let us be happy and calm and not that stressed..cause two years now, I only see us being more stressed and with more fights than ever"
H-"There's love in our family and that can stop every fight or every bad thought"
B-"But love wasn't enough when you and mom kept fighting..I mean it couldn't stop you"
H-"You have a good point but now we're good and there's absolutely nothing that can destroy us, you don't need to worry about that"
B-"I don't know, I just have a bad feeling"
H-"Me too to be honest but I won't let anything to make us fight again, I told you, you don't need to worry, it's all fine"
B-"For now, what about later?"
H-"You don't have to think like this, just think positive and everything will be fine, trust me, I know what I'm saying"
B-"Fine, I will calm down then"
H-"Great"
P-"Okay now it's time for me to talk to dad.."
B-"Whatever"
Polly grabbed the phone from Betty and went at her room..

P-"Hi dad"
H-"Hi, sweetie"
P-"I see you kept your promise"
H-"Of course I did"
P-"Yeah Thanks God, so.. dad how things going?"
H-"Good, I'm just waiting until I come back in Riverdale, I don't really like being somewhere without you, at least I have Fred.."
P-"We wait for you dad and your grandchildren too"
H-"How are they and you?"
P-"We're good for now"
H-"Why for now?"
P-"Because I still haven't kill Betty for hitting on my nerves, she kept mentioning about you all the time, it's kinda annoying"
H-"Your sister is just worried"
P-"Well, I am too but I don't show it that much"
H-"Worried about what exactly?"
P-"Dad you're in the hospital, I can't really be calm"
H-"Uh, everything will be fine, don't worry but I can't really talk much.. I'm tired and I think I need to rest"
P-"Okay, good night then"
H-"Good night to you too, sweetie"
Hal hanged up from the call,
A-"So did you girls talk to your dad as you wanted?"
P-"Yeah we did"
A-"Great"

[ Back to the New York ]

The next morning, it was kinda late but Fred was waiting for Hal to wake up..

H-"I'm awake and I'm fine, don't worry"
F-"Can you stop doing that?"
H-"Doing what?"
F-"Pretending you're sleeping when you don't, it's annoying and it makes me worried"
H-"Why? Didn't you think I died while I was sleeping?" Hal laughed..
F-"No but as long as those 42 hours still exists, I have every single right to be more worried than ever for my best friend, is that too bad to you?"
H-"No it's not but you have to relax, I'm fine..also when we leave from the hospital..I think we need to go to some restaurant so I can eat normal food cause I don't like it here"
F-"What did you expect Hal? We're in the hospital if you remember"
H-"Yeah I remember, that's the problem and one more reason is that I can't wait until I leave from here, I wanna see my family and spend time at Pop's with you and Tom and alone with my wife.."
F-"Be patient, it's just 4 days and then we will go back to Riverdale"
H-"Four days sounds way too long to me but fine whatever"
F-"Relax"
H-"It's not that easy"
F-"it will be if you calm down, being so stressed doesn't help anyone"
H-"I know that"
F-"It doesn't seems like that"
H-"Shut up Fred and go take your coffee"
F-"Fine as you want"
