6; Hogwarts

HAZEL

We were talking about some of the most random things during the ride. None of it was important but it was fun while passing the time. Near the end of the ride the girl Hermione came back into our compartment asking to sit with us. 

"You guys should get changed soon we are going to be there shortly" Hermione said reading her book and already in her robes.

Ron and I got up to go to the bathrooms but split ways right when we left the compartment due to the men and women restrooms being on either side of the train. When I was walking I was passing many different compartments, some had a big group of friends laughing and making jokes together, some people were sleeping and reading in others, some had very few people. I also noticed that the compartments started changing colors. Where I had been sitting it was red and orange colors, the when I continued walking it became yellow, farther a little it was blue, then when I spotted the women's restroom I was next to a bunch of green compartments. 

I was getting stares the entire walk to the restroom but in this green area they were a lot more. I saw that one blonde boy in these compartments with a nice sized group, it looked to be him, two boys that looked very out of place, a girl with black hair who was very pretty, and two boys with curly hair. 

I finally made it to the bathroom and finally didn't feel like I was being watched. When I finished changing I went out of the stall and to wash my hand but bumped into the pretty girl from that compartment with the blonde boy.

"Oh I'm so sorry I did not mean to bump into you" I said holding onto her arm

"It's alright it was my fault as well, I'm Pansy, Pansy Parkinson." She said with a kind smile

"I'm Hazel, Hazel Potter, you're very pretty by the way" I said seeing the look on her face but trying to stop that with a compliment. 

"I didn't know you were coming here this year, oh my merlin, but thank you, you are too" She said and I'm glad she didn't ask to see my scar like everyone else. "Do you know what house you want to be in, I want Slytherin just like my family"

"No, I'm not sure but I haven't heard very nice things about Slytherin but if you get in, it probably won't be that bad. But it was nice meeting you, I should get back now" I said while waving at her then walking out of the bathroom. 

"Hazel! What are you doing over here, are you hurt, why didn't you go to the restroom near our compartment?!" Hermione basically screamed while grabbing my arm tightly.

"I am fine, I didn't know there was one next to us." I said taking my arm away considering it was not very light of a hold. 

We walked back and I saw the blonde boys compartment and met eyes with him and waved and getting one back.

"What do you think you're doing, why are you waving at Draco Malfoy?" She said pushing my arm down then my body away from the compartment.

"What do you mean, I met him when I was getting my robes he seemed very nice" I responded but that led into a long, long talk about the bad Slytherins and their children. I was sad because both Pansy and Draco were brought up during the conversation.

We finally made it back and Hermione had to tell Ron that I was in Slytherin section, that now explained the colors of compartments, and that sent him into a long rant about hating Slytherins.

We were following Hagrid with the rest of the first years to a bunch of water with boats.

"4 to a boat get in first years, 4 to a boat" He said with his voice booming. We got in the three of us with the boy with the toad who I learned is Neville and he seemed very skittish. 

We all were seated ad I saw Draco and Pansy looking over with the other two boys that were sitting with them and I saw the two boys that didn't belong with them in the boat behind them. I looked up and saw the prettiest scenery I had ever seen, It was Hogwarts in all its glory. I was huge and quite the castle. All the plants and trees made it look even prettier. 

We walked up and were met with a woman in green velvet robes and she stood with a very firm look on her face. 

"Here are the first years, Professor McGonagall" Hagrid said before walking away from us.

"Follow me kids" She said while turning and walking into the bigs doors in front of her.

The room that we walked into was huge and my whole room at the Dursley's could fit in here, well the entire house could fit in here. 

"Welcome to Hogwarts. The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but beforeyou take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sortedinto your houses. The Sorting is a very importantceremony because, while you are here, your house will besomething like your family within Hogwarts. You willhave classes with the rest of your house, sleep in yourhouse dormitory and spend free time in your housecommon room.'The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff,Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noblehistory and each has produced outstanding witches andwizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs willearn your house points, while any rule-breaking will losehouse points. I suggest you smarten youselves up since you will be going in soon" She said turning and walking into another set of doors and leaving us here. Everyone started talking amongst themselves and chatting before Neville's toad jumped out and he started screaming about trevor.

"So, it's true then, what Pansy said on the train? Hazel Potter has come to Hogwarts." Draco said coming to stand in front of me with the two guys who don't belong with him stood behind him. "This is Crabbe and Goyle" He said pointing to the two behind him "And I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy" He continued and Ron laughed for some reason next to me "Think my name's funny do you, No need to ask for yours  red hair and a hand-me-down robe, you must be a Weasley. You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." He said sticking his hand out and I was going to shake it but both Ron and Hermione slapped my hand away and pushed me behind them.

"She'll be better with us, thanks though" Ron said trying to look tough but he just started to look red. Draco was about to say something but Professor McGonagall came up behind him and made him move. 

"You guys can now follow me, we are ready for you" She said before opening the large doors and letting us in. It was mesmerizing, there were candles floating above, it look like you could see th night sky but we were inside. The Hermione ruined the magic by explaining what she read in her book.

"The sorting ceremony shall now begin"
