The next morning when Gon walked to the town, he was horrified. Why does it seem like the population grew..?!
Not only that, but dead bodies were seen here and there.
Gon frowned and walked back to his house... he doesn't want to die before he even gets the chance to look for this cat.
When Gon got back to his house he put his face in his hands.
H-how many people are here?!
It looks like the town's population doubled!
No... tripled!!
Gon sat in his room and continued to read and search for information about cats.
He wants to know all about them before he goes searching blind.
(=⌒‿‿⌒=)
On the other hand... everyone in town has gone berserk.
Very few have managed to even find the cat, but those who did... tried everything to catch it.
But failed.
One man ended up being killed by his own catcher.
The man laughs evilly as he sits in a bush, "I saw that cat around here... so if I just wait... Killua will become mine." The man said lowly.
Quietly the small, white, fluffy cat trotted around in the dirt, getting closer and closer to the trap, but stopped right before they stepped on it and looked in the man's direction.
The cat turned and began to walk in the man's direction.
The man smirked and quietly laughed, while getting ready to trap the cat inside of the bag he held.
But at the last second, the cat ran away, the trap catching the man in his own trap.
Later that night... the man died from a bear attack.
Quite a few others suffered too, but in different ways.
After more and more deaths were reported, some people backed down and stopped looking for the cat.
But many, many more still lurked in the forest and on roof tops, trying to spot a white cat.
People were putting bounties on the cat too!
Some were putting posters up about the cat and explaining that if the cat was found, they'd get paid millions for the cat... but only if the key was around the neck.
One scam happened to one towns person, which made people even more cautious about these deals.
One person traded the money for a white cat with the key around its neck... accept its was a fake.
Work was spread quickly about this, so people stopped doing deals with each other... not only that, but it made people resent and hate each other more.
People became extremely competitive and impulsive... which caused more deaths to happen.
People became scared, but many others just became even more angry and competitive... almost animalistic... just to get their hands on Killua.
Gon on the other hand, was just taking daily walks around the forest, hoping that he would run into the cat someday.
He doesn't want to force it... so he just hopes the cat doesn't get hurt and taken by someone before he even gets the chance to meet or see it.
Gon sighs as he walks further and further from his house, trying to get his mind off of the chaos that's going on.
As Gon walks he catches small white movements in the corner of his eye.
Gon gulps, but keeps on walking.
He doesn't turn to see what it was... he doesn't stop... he just kept on walking as if he didn't even see anything.
After a few more minutes of walking, the white and fluffy animal kept on making more and more appearances.
Gon began to think it was the cat, which freaked him out a bit.
If this is the cat, then I can't mess this up!!
Gon takes a deep breath and continued to walk, but still sees the cat poke it's head out of the bushes or run by in his peripheral vision.
Gon began to get a little tired from the walking, so he took a break on a nearby log.
As Gon was sitting on the log he didn't realize the cat jumped up and sat next to him.
So when Gon looked to the side, he jumped slightly, causing the cat the jump back a little.
Gon grimaced and made sure not to make any sudden movements, "S-sorry... you just scared me." Gon said softly.
The cat tilted its head to the side, then sat back down and licked its paws.
Gon smiled, then observed the cat and raised his eyebrows when he realized that there was a key around its neck.
Gon took a deep breath, but stayed still.
I need to earn their trust first... that's what all the books say repeatedly.
Gon held his hands together and sighed in content.
Gon looked at the cat again, "You know... you've caused a lot of chaos in this town..." Gon said.
The cat meowed and faced Gon, which caused Gon to chuckle, "Yeah... last time I went into town... there were a few dead bodies and plenty of people fighting each other over you." Gon slowly and quietly turned to face the cat, "You owner is the prize in a way." Gon added.
The cat just stared at Gon, so he continued, "A lot of people see Killua as... a piece of treasure, not an actual human being." Gon sighed, "It's sad... but I just hope you get caught in the right hands... or don't get caught at all!" Gon exclaimed, "Honestly... none of us deserve your owner you know! Not only does Killua have a personality... he's gorgeous, but a lot of the people here just lust over him... see him as a sexual toy, which scares me." Gon said quietly.
The cat licked its paws again, then looked at Gon again, "Meow!"
Gon chuckled and reached out to pet the cat, but the cat retreated and ran away.
Gon's hand was still outstretched, with his mouth slightly open, "Damn... I just wanted to pet you." Gon mumbled.
Gon sat on the log for a few more minutes before he grabbed his things and began to walk back to his house.
I'll go on another walk tomorrow... and bring some food for the cat just in case if I run into it again.
Gon pre made some of his lunch and prepared some of the food for the cat, then went to bed with the comforting sound of people screaming and glass breaking heard from the town.
