By the time Mavis awoke it was almost 9:30am. She got out of bed and jumped into the shower. Once Mavis was done she brushed her hair and teeth, and got dressed. Mavis was excited for the day but she hoped a case would come up soon. As much as the girl strongly discouraged working with other hunters, she wouldn't mind working one with the winchesters. It might bring them closer and Mavis wanted that more than anything. She wanted friends and people to call family since she had none.
Once Mavis exited her room she headed towards the kitchen. The smell of fresh brewed coffee invaded her nose. She was beginning to like it here but she didn't know how long she was welcome. Once Mavis entered the kitchen Sam and Dean greeted her a Good-morning.
"Hey Dean, me and Mavis were talking last night about going shopping today for some food and supplies. Would you want to join us?"
Mavis silently prayed that he said no so she could spend the day with Sam. It wasn't that the girl didn't like Dean. She liked him perfectly fine, however she just wanted to get to know Sam more.
"Yeah sure Sammy, I need a few things."
To her dismay he happily agreed. Mavis didn't mind to much that he was coming because she also wanted to know Dean. But it did make her a little upset. Mavis swallowed down her feelings and decided that she was their guest and didn't have any say over the matter.
"I'll be right back guys I'm just going to go get dressed." Dean spoke before leaving the kitchen.
"Hey Mavis are you alright?" Sam asked the girl with concern.
"Yeah I'm fine, I just realized that I don't have any money to get anything."
"Oh, don't worry about it. Dean and I have money we can get you whatever you need or want."
"Sam you both have done so much for me already. You gave me a place to stay and even my own room."
"Mavis it's not a problem really. This place is huge and it's actually nice to see someone new around. I promise we love having you here."
"Okay Sam, I really appreciate everything. When I have overstayed my welcome please tell me."
"I don't think that would ever happen Mav." Sam gave her a warm smile and gently squeezed her arm.
Dean came back shortly after and the group headed to the car. Dean turned the radio on and Everlong by the Foo Fighters was playing.
"Ouu turn it up I love this song!"
"Really you like this?" Sam questioned Mavis.
"Dude I love it, one of my favourite songs actually."
"Sammy she's a keeper!" Dean gladly turned the song up and gave Mavis a huge grin.
The entire ride to the store Mavis and Dean blasted the music and sang along together. She was actually pretty happy that Dean came along because she was having a lot of fun. For the first time in a very long time Mavis felt free and happy.
Once the group pulled into the parking lot of the grocery store they all got out and headed towards the entrance.
Mavis began walking ahead when Dean held Sam back for a minute.
"Sammy I'm starting to really like this chick. and I know you do to."
"What no I don't like her!" Sam almost took a fit trying to play it cool.
"Oh come on man I know you better than that."
"Okay maybe i like Mavis. Dude she's so pretty, and kind and her little giggle is so cute."
"Yeah yeah, Sam I just think your love struck."
"Whatever man, you're the one who brought it up."
"I just think that you should go for it."
"Dean she's been with us for 3 days. I'm not just going to jump into it with her. What if I do something wrong."
"Look all I'm saying is just see where things go."
When Mavis looked back from the entrance of the store she realized that the boys were still back at the car.
"Okay fine I'll see where things go. But for know let's catch up with her and go shop."
Dean nodded his head and the two men ran to catch up with Mavis.
"Sorry Mav, Dean just had to tell me something personal. He needs some bum cream." Sam said smirking.
"What no I don't! Shut up!" Dean hit Sam's shoulder.
Mavis began giggling causing Sam to join.
"Come on boys lets go get Dean his butt cream."
Sam started laughing louder as they walked into the store.
"Bitch"
"Jerk"
"Alright boys want do we need fist?"
"Hmm I think bread, milk, and cereal."
"Okay let's start with that."
As they started shopping dean would made jokes which caused Mavis and Sam to laugh around the entire store. He would tell little stories about when Sam was little and how much of a nerd he was. Mavis kinda felt bad when she noticed it bothered Sam. She decided to tell them how much of a nerd she was growing up. It immediately made Sam lighten up because he wasn't the only one.
"Man that's nothing, when I was a kid my mom had to literally hide the books before bed." Mavis told the story which caused dean to laugh and sam to smile widely.
"And look at you now a rock fan with tattoos." Dean spoke.
"Hey just because I have tattoos and listen to rock music doesn't mean there isn't a nerd buried deep down . Just last night I read an entire book on spirits."
"Okay damn I take back what I said." Dean jokingly scoffed and walked away.
"You finished that entire book last night?" Sam questioned.
"Yeah it was too interesting to put down."
"I know right I read it in one night too!"
"I guess we're just so alike." Mavis then nudged Sam and headed towards dean to the check out.
"Yeah I guess so." Sam mumbled under his breath.
Once all the groceries were paid for and loaded into the car. They all headed back home and Dean and Mavis continued their rock concert.
Once they got home and brought the bags inside they began unpacking.
"Today was great guys. Thanks for everything."
"Today was a lot of fun Mav. And would you stop thanking us!" Dean said jokingly with the last part.
"I'm sorry I just appreciate everything."
"We know Mavis so don't worry!"
Suddenly Mavis hugged the brothers and said thank you one last time before they all broke out laughing.
The rest of the night was spent playing games like cards and pool while drinking beers. Mavis loved hanging out with them. She completely forgot all about her earlier sadness and was glad that Dean came.
