matt insisted on loading juliette's luggage into the van, and juliette took this as an opportunity to connect her phone to the car's radio. she hit shuffle on her playlist that consisted of mainly taylor swift.
afterglow began to play and the girl sang along, waiting for matt to get into the car. "you have an unhealthy obsession with taylor swift," he says, getting into the vehicle.
"it is not unhealthy." he gives her a look, and she only smiles in return. "it's not my fault she's just so good, and that you hate her music."
"i don't hate her music."
"so you do like it," she shouts in excitement, giggling at the boy. "you sooo love her music."
matt only rolls his eyes with a small smile, turning his attention on the road as he began to drive off. he tried his best to sneak the occasional glance at juliette, but she noticed everytime. and only simply because she was already looking at him, but he didn't know that.
juliette took a second to look out of the window, and her face scrunched up in confusion. the street he was driving down didn't look familiar to her, and she wondered where the hell he was taking her.
he only responded with a 'you'll see,' when she asked, and that made the girl sigh and sink in her seat. "we'll be there soon, i swear."
juliette looks up from her phone when she notices that the car is no longer in motion, and she turns to matt. "we're literally in the middle of nowhere." she watches as he takes the keys out of the ignition and place them in his pocket. "oh my god, are you gonna kill me?"
"i would never even think of doing such a thing." he places his hands on his heart, and pretends to act shocked. "i thought maybe you would like to have a picnic." he gives her a shy look and rubs at his neck. "you're always on about how much you love picnics."
