The higher you fly, the more chances of you falling to your demise are...
Maybe falling to your death is a pretty easy way to die. But now that I think about it, maybe it was the scariest way. As someone afraid of heights it’s a big no-no for sure.
‘If you fly too high and go beyond the clouds you will end up burning your wings and fall to your death- That was what nearly all of us demons grew up listening to.
That one piece of advice was common in all households. Maybe its because they didn’t want us to try going beyond the clouds because there was something much worse waiting for us, nevertheless none of the people were foolish enough to try to reach for the clouds, after all, one would end up being tired if they ever would try to reach for that height.
“Hey, burned wings what are you doing?”
‘Those bullies again, who make fun of me because of my burned wings.’
I murmured in a low tone, without turning in their direction, “Nothing...”
One of them instantly answered in a taunting tone, “Good for you. A demon who can’t fly is of no more value than a human. No need for you to return to the village.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t. I don’t like being looked down on, so I won’t return.”
“Good, if you set foot in the village I will be the one to kick you out. Mark my word.”
Saying these words he took his leave.
But, I am for sure not returning to the village, after all, he is right, a demon that can’t fly is no better than a human and that’s why I am here thinking of an easy way to e...
As I looked above towards the clouds I noticed a strange golden light falling towards the land. The light kept on scattering from the source and then disappeared. Those scattered light looked like feathers and with that, the light fell into the lake but before falling from the lake the light disappeared and I noticed a person that was surrounded by that shimmering golden light as if a piece of sun was falling.
Without any reason, I just jumped into the lake. Maybe because of how worthless I was at that moment, I wanted to do something and saving a person was not something I should think about whether to save them or not.
Though it took some time, I managed to get them to the edge of the lake. The shining golden light was one thing but I never imagined it would be a girl. Good thing she was breathing.
Now, what to do? What was that golden light and why was she falling so slow?
I have a lot of questions..!
Oh, she's opening her eyes!
I was lost in my thoughts. However, I shifted all my attention to her. While trying to get up, she mumbled in a low and weak voice.
“Where am I? Wait, who are you?”
“Me...I am Kiel and you are in Darkhol village."
"Darkhol?? Where is it?"
"In the country, Delkia.”
After a little pause, I asked in a puzzled tone, “Wait.. Why don't you know? You look like a human. Who are you?"
"Human.. don't tell me this is the world below the clouds?"
"Below the clouds? Don't tell me you live above the clouds?"
"Yes... I am Ciel, an angel and I came from up above."
I can't believe it, I never knew there were beings like angels living up above the clouds. So all the stories about angels are true. But if that’s the case then angels are supposed to hate demons.
