I opened my eyes to a bright July day. Or, it was bright on about a quarter of my vision. I mewed to my mother, who's name was Moonray. She was licking my siblings, all of which were dozing. "Momma!" I mewed.
She looked towards me. "What do you need, darling?"
"I'm huuunnnngryyyyyyyyyyy!" I whined.
"Well then git over here, sweetie!" Momma said. I wobbled over to her and began nursing. Ohh, warm, sweet milk, yummy yummy in my tummy! Sadly, my siblings soon woke up.
"Move it!"
"Gimme!"
"Stop!"
I yowled. "Hey! Why can't you guys share?!?"
"Quit your whining!" My brother, Spike said. He snapped and hissed at me, and I backed away. I curled up next to Mother instead. She licked my forehead.
"It'll be okay," She said. "Spike has more bark than bite, trust me. If he gives you sass, send it right back." So, I decided, next time Spike snapped at me, I would put him in his place.
