"It's better now.. So why doesn't it feel better?" He asked with a shaky breath as he stared at himself in the mirror. A small sigh went through his body before he stood up and grabbed a seltzer from the fridge, careful not to get caught by his parents when he opened the heavy door.
A small sigh left his mouth as he gently closed the door to his room and grabbed his phone. He didn't know what else to do other than prepare for another night of either supporting his friends, or staying awake so his constant nightmares didn't plague him.
He opened the plastic bottle and took a quick drink of the carbonated beverage before clicking on a familiar blue app with a white game controller in the middle. He smiled quietly to himself when he saw a good amount of joking around, and general light hearted talk among those he knew the best.
He shut his phone quickly before laying down on his bed with a little laugh as he thought of the constant paradox that was his life sometimes. He heard a small meow from the door and turned to stare at the kitten that was begging to be let out into the real world.
"Trapped here huh? You and me both, buddy." He muttered out as he stared at the cat. It was only a week since he had run from his house the night after his 13th birthday. Only a month and a half since both of his grandparents died at the same time.
"Just a bit longer alright.. Just a bit longer until you can go." He said to the kitten that the family had just gotten, although it felt as if he were talking to himself for some reason. Some odd, and unknown reason that he couldn't quite place.
