harles did think of killing Nicholas at once but if so, the metal flower would have disappeared with his soul and it would await to find it's new rightful owner who had royal blood.
It could land before Charles and maybe not. This was a risk he wasn't willing on taking. He couldn't risk it like Lucas did.
Nicholas's identity had been whipped out like it had never existed. Charles and Diana's methods worked just enough to earn Nicholas a new identity however this didn't stop blur images of his old life with voices to roam his dreams.
"Save yourself."
He was put away at the attic with no understanding or a memory of anything but the man and woman who came in with a plate of food and water to offer each day.
"Time to cut it." Diana said as she pulled Nicholas off the bed to stand on his two small and fragile feet.
"This will not work." Charles argued. Diana glared at him in disapproval
as Charles rolled his eyes.Nicholas stood in between them with fear as he curled his hands into a tight fist, a habit he didn't know of and one that made him feel better.
"It shall fade with his soul!" Charles could easily snap Diana's neck or drag the red organs out of her alive body but something clearly stopped him from doing so.
He hated that something only because it weakened him.
"Then what should we do?! We named the kid Austin so what now?!" Her face resembled the color pink. She was sure brave considering how she yelled at the psychopath before her.
"Should I play mother?!" Her question didn't await an answer. She didn't want the responsibility that came with being a woman, a woman who had picked her fate with a monster and a woman who was a bigger monster.
His eyes darkened, he allowed his hands to curl around her neck carefully with a smirk to his face then he strangled her, feeding off the defeat on her face.
It was quite pleasant to see how quickly being fierce can get you dead. He enjoyed watching the fear on her face, the way her lips quivered in breathless mumbles gave him adrenaline to keep going; to break her to no repair.
"Do not raise your voice at me." He slowly warned, the words haunting Diana and playing into her ears longer than it should have. She felt small, smaller than how she actually was compared to him.
"You're hurting me..." Diana winced slowly with tears to hang onto the edge of her colored blue eyes.
Nicholas shakingly stood there, praying and hoping for an escape of some sort. He glimpsed at the floor for a split second and met the sight of the metal flower which had fallen from Charles's right pocket trouser.
Nicholas's instinct rushed to pick it up, silently as he hid it under his bed sheets without the two noticing.
"I'm sorry." Diana whimpered with shame to her voice as she apologized.
