Chapter 8: shopping with serena

"Where did you go to college Justin?" I asked sitting at my bosses desk. "NYU" he says. "They had a very good photography program". "I don't think I can ever go to college" I said. "You know you can apply for government funding" he said. " I can?" I ask. "Yea you have no parents" he says. "Just go online and apply they will pay for all 4 years only if you do well though" he says giving me the website. "Next week you're picture and you're story will be published for all to see" he says. "Really?!" I scream. "Yea and if you happen to know any good writers tell them to call LIFE we just fired someone for copyright." He says shaking his head. " I actually do" I say grabbing my bag and leaving his office. I leave my tag at the front office.

I get to my apartment excitingly. I want to tell Dan about LIFE. I knock on his door really fast. "Everything okay" he says looking concerned. "Do you have a job"? I ask him. " no I have been looking though" he says with a confused tone. " how would you like to write at LIFE." I ask jumping up and down. " what?!" He said with a smile on his face. " all you need to do is call them" I say. "THANK YOU". He says and hugs me kinda picking me up. We both laugh an he walks back inside.
I didn't actually want to go shopping but I guess I needed to. Me and Serena were supposed to meet on a street. I quickly got down to the street and u saw her waiting. "Hi" she said smiling. " hey" I said. We walked into a huge ginormous store. "What do you need to go shopping for?" She asked. " a Galla ball." I said. "Wait who invited you" she asked. "Chuck" I said. "Chuck invited you?" She asked very confused. I nodded. "He likes you a lot" she says.
"He doesn't just invite girls he sleeps with to a Galla" she says. "We haven't had sex" I said. "Really" she said confused. "I thought you and dan would hit it off" she said. I laughed I did like dan and I'll admit I had some feelings for him when I first met him but I think me and chuck could work.
"Try this on" she said handing me a long beautiful red dress. I tried it on and It was really pretty. I walked out to show Serena. "Oh my god you look so gorgeous" she said. "How much" I said looking at the price tag. "500" I say. " and that's on sale". " I probably shouldn't get this one" I say. " no this dress is meant for you"" I'll pay" she says. "No don't" I say. "I have too it's no problem" she said. " I guess" i said. I felt like a charity project when she did that I'm one of those people who have to take care of them selves because that's all I've ever known.

I get home and hang up my beautiful dress in a sacred place. I lay on the couch very tired. I realize I haven't eaten in a very long time I decide to text Dan and ask him if he called the magazine. I finally get off my butt and put cold leftover Thai food takeout in the microwave. I turn on American horror story and eat my noodles. I feed my leftovers to nugget. Oops. I fall asleep while watching Netflix.

I sat outside of my boyfriend Stephens house freezing cold. I had a bag with random things in it I didn't know what to bring when I decided to run away. I sat on the curb of his house wandering if I should even try to go in. We had a fight earlier. Stephen was not a very good boyfriend honestly i was just one of the girls that he fucks around with but he was the only person I had. He would sometimes hit me or push me when we fought. But sometimes he would treat me so nicely. I went up to the door and knocked. He opened the door and saw me as a mess with my hair all tangled mascara running down my face. " I left my dad" I said while I was crying. He was in a good mood so he hugged me. I came inside "I have no where to go Stephen" I said. He was 20 so he lived with a roommate his friend Marcus who was basically a drug addict. "If your gunna live here your going to have to pay your rent some how" he said. "I'll get a job" I said. "Okay let's go upstairs". We went upstairs and we sat on his bed. He was playing some video game. He turned off and looked at me "you know what I wanna do" he asked. "What?" I asked sniffling. "We should fuck" he said pulling a condom. I shook my head scared. We have never had sex because it was illegal but for some reason he wanted to. He started touching me. "No Stephen I can't" I got off the bed and he got mad. "If your going to live here you have to follow my rules bitch" he yelled. I picked my bag up and ran out before anyone could hurt me again.
