Alana
september 7, 2021I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I got out of bed, and put my slippers on to do my morning hygiene in the bathroom.
After i finished, i went into the kitchen to make my favourite breakfast of fried eggs and sausages.
Today is my first day as an English teacher at Fremont Elementary and i would be lying if i said that i'm not nervous.
I looked in the mirror after brushing my silky black hair.
"You got this girl"
no you don't
"YES I DO"
i have to stop talking to myself before the neighbours call the police.I checked my phone to see if the school's principal, Mrs. Craig, sent anything. Thankfully, the only message I saw was from Pinterest suggesting photos of cute little bunnies.
awww...I exited my house, locked my door, and mentally prepared myself to walk down the street past people, animals, trash and other things. You don't know what you will see on these streets.
I looked at the time. it's 8:12 and the bus leaves at 8:15. Work starts at 9:00 so i gotta hurry before i miss the bus.
I briskly walked to the bus stop and waited 5 mins to see if the bus will come. i looked down at my watch and realized that... i missed the bus. poop.
Now i'm late for work and have to walk. i live 40 freaking minutes away from the school... by car. this is not the best way to start my first day.
I was speed walking down the road when i bumped into this tall 6'3 figure built like a frickin' tree (that's the height im guessing from how giant his feet were) and dropped my laptop bag and my books.
I was so upset that I didn't even want to look up, but he picked up my things so i knew i had to say something.
"I am so sorry" we said together. "No, it was my fault," he said. "I hope you have a good day." Those were his last words before zooming off again.
i'm gonna be very very honest with you. During our 8 second encounter before he glided past me, it almost, almost put a smile on my face. Not because i wanted to be knocked over of course.
His scent was like the sweetest honey- no, most aromatic flora- or maybe even like a whiff of the most pure winter zephyr. screw it all. he smelt like heaven.
le parfum angélique.
If i wasn't so livid i probably would've died to smell him again.
It looks like he was in a rush though because as soon as I said "i am so sorry" he cut me off as if trying to end the conversation.
it was sort of ill mannerned but i guess he had somewhere to be. JUST LIKE I HAVE TO BE RIGHT NOW. I'm gonna get fired after the first day.
