Last Day

It's freezing, it's the last day of school and it just has to be this cold, I should've bought that jacket when I had the chance.  Jason was driving me to school while I kept hugging myself to keep warm. "So are you ready to face Senior Year next year, Rose?"

"I think so... But I don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to all my friends, I won't be able to hold back the tears." I said jokily. Jason chuckled a bit. "I'm sure they won't be able to either."

"Hey, Rosie Posie." Chelsea looked all happy and bright, especially in her new skinny blue jeans. "Hey Chels." I opened my locker and just stared at it. "What's wrong now? Aren't you happy it's the last day of school and we get to go on vacation?" She stared at me like I was going crazy.

"Not really."

"But my parents are going on vacation, I get to fucking stay with you, Rose!!"

"I totally forgot about that!" I said, making myself look more awake and happy. "I hope Jason lets us stay up late and go out with friends."

The bell rang, signalling the first period. My first class was Biology, since it was the last day of junior year, Mr Venny – our teacher – let us draw and fool around, chat, and if we wanted, we could dissect anything that he had in his store room.

Across the room was Caitlin Muller, the snob, her two "best friends" the twins Daniella and Pillicky Parson, the gossipers and of course Caitlin's boyfriend Zack George the soccer player.

Caitlin is the kind of person who always makes sure everyone listens to her, that she must always get attention and is always bossy and in charge. If anyone tried to stand up against her, she would make sure that they will have a miserable high school life. No one has ever stood up against her, well besides me. But she hasn't tried to make my life miserable because she knows I can take away her fame, just like that.

Her so called "besties" weren't just making and spreading gossip about other people, but they were also spreading gossip about Caitlin and Zack.

On the other side of the room was Emma Burn. No one actually talks to her, everyone says that's she's just a wanna be goth because she always wears black and almost every day she has a different eye colour – which I assume are contacts –  but I just thought that she was shy and didn't want to be known and that she just loved the colour black.

I got up, walked over to her desk and sat down next to her. "Hey Emma." I showed small smile. She was wearing a black hoodie, with the hood up, looking down at her phone. "Hi." She lamely said, still looking at her phone. "So are you excited for next year?" She didn't answer me so I repeated myself, talking a bit louder so she could hear me, but she never replied. I sat there with my back slouched, I was about to get up and leave but she then looked up, her aquamarine eyes staring at my plain green eyes. "Totally, you?" And gave me a sad smile, I didn't respond for a while so she repeated "And you?" But I couldn't stop staring at her eyes and their amazing colour. "I'm excited too." I said finally. I looked away from her face to her arm where she had marks that looked like they were made with a whip. She saw me staring at them, then pulled her sleeve down. "Sorry."

"It's okay, it will be gone by tomorrow." I looked at her weirdly. Emma then realized what she said and did a quick save. "It's just a joke..." she hesitated."Scars last forever."

"Well.... Can't wait for next year, I hope we're in the same class."

"Me too." I got up from the desk just as the bell rang.

The next period was English. I sat down in my usual seat in the front, facing the chalkboard. My friend Matthew sat down next to me, he has been my friend ever since we were small, I'm glad I have a friend like him, he always makes me smile and laugh.
