After Homeroom, I had maths. I wasn't good at maths when I went to my old school, so the maths here was not very easy for me. But I'm lucky that Annabeth was there to help me. She is very smart. Like, very very smart. Every so often I would see Percy look at me; and when he saw me catch him he would look away.
When the teacher assigned homework to us I kind of freaked out a little bit, I will have to ask Annabeth if she can help me with it. Oh goodness, she probably thinks I'm super clingy. I just won't ask her for help and just try by myself. Or better yet, I could call Luca! Luca is my best and only friend (Well... Almost only friend) in Italy. He has messy dark brown hair and dark violet eyes. He is 16, and lives in Naples. We saw each other every other weekend when I lived in Italy. He is hyper and always happy. Before I left Italy, I gave him my L' invasione degli omini verdi jumper. LDOV is one of our favourite bands! Okay, off topic; I can just call Luca for help on my homework.
Right now Annabeth is speaking with Percy whilst I work on a math problem. I could tell him and Annabeth were dating. They (from what I have seen) have spent a lot of time together, it also seems that a lot of people know them.
Soon, our maths period was over and I only had 2 problems of my work leftover. So, all together I did 3. Well, Annabeth did most of them because I didn't get it. But luckily, I had art next. I love to draw. When Bianca died, I drew her 24/7. But soon enough, I started drawing other things and people. One other person I drew a lot was Luca. I was really embarrassed when he found my sketchbook with all of my drawings in it. I thought he would be freaked out and stop being friends with me, but he just laughed and complimented them. He even asked if he could keep one. I was blushing pretty badly by then. But of course I managed to say yes and have him take his pick. He ended up choosing one I had drawn of the both of us.
"You have Art after this, right?" Annabeth asked me, breaking me out of my train of thought. I nodded.
"I do." I responded. " Thank you for all of your help by the way. I wouldn't have understood anything." I said.
"No problem Nico. It's fresh." She said. I sat for a second . She mustn't be as fluent as I thought she was.
Since Art was next, I had to go to my locker and grab my belongings that I would need. The school provided me with supplies. I don't know why though. I mean, me and my mother are definitely not filthy rich, but we aren't ever low on money either. I told Annabeth that I was going to my locker for a second. She nodded and carried on with her conversation with Percy whilst I got up and walked out to the empty corridor.
I took out my small piece of paper that Ms. Smith gave me. It had my locker number, what time school starts and ends and oddly enough where the counselor is located. The weird thing is, everything is printed but the line that reads "Counselors office, RM. 18". I sighed. My mother must have asked if they could put that down for me. I swear that woman thinks I'm unstable. I'm not, I swear. Well... yeah no. I already have to take 4 pills a day and see a shrink twice a week, I don't need to start seeing the school counselor too.
My locker number was 713. My combination was 4858. Pretty easy to remember. 713 and 4858. I repeated that a few times before I felt I could remember it. I started walking to my left, hoping that was the right way to go. I passed the bathrooms, then the English classroom. But soon I saw the two walls parallel to each other with lockers covering them both. I started at the front of the left side, the first locker number I see is 700. Then 700, 702, 704 and so on and so forth until I saw the two lockers right next to each other numbered 712 and 714. I looked to the right side of the wall to see number 713. I walked over to it seeing that it was yellow. Unlike everyone else's, who's colours ranged from red, grey, white and some more. Also, some were outlined in orange, or purple. I noticed mine was next to the only dark blue locker. But now that I think of it I did see one dark blue one a lot farther down the corridor. I wonder why.
I spun the numbers on my lock to match my combination. It popped open swiftly. I grabbed the Artemis Prep tote bag and opened it to find a pack of pencils, regular and mechanical, coloured pencils and some other things I will need for my classes like notebooks and stuff. I grabbed my art supplies and set off towards Art. Or, at least set off towards the direction I thought Art would be in.
After walking down the corridor for 5 minutes, not able to find the stupid Art room, I gave up and started walking to the front office. I wonder how long I will have to keep going to people for help here until I can navigate and answer my own freaking maths questions by myself. I will probably start finding my way around by my 2nd week here; hopefully.
Once I saw the front office I picked up my walking pace. Ms. Smith was still seated where I last saw her. When she saw me coming, she looked surprised.
"Why aren't you in class?" She asked. It took me a minute to figure out what she was saying but I got a pretty good idea.
"Don't know." I said ever so slowly. Man this sucks. I was pretty happy when she looked like she understood.
"Paper?" She asked. I handed her my schedule. She looked at it then at her watch and nodded. She typed 3 numbers into the phone and picked it up.
"Can I please get Travis Stoll to the office please? Travis Stoll. Thank you." Then she hung up.
"Some one is coming to get you soon." I didn't understand but I nodded any way.
