Ryan and J.B dropped off Michael along the driveway of his house. They waved goodbye just when the duo prepared to enter J.B's car.
"You should see the look on your nephew's face. He's so dying for you to teach him how to slam dunk," said Ryan.
"That was just a matter of timing, elevation, and overall experience. If he likes to learn, I wouldn't mind the next time we return to the court," J.B responded. While they were about to get into the car, J.B received an incoming call from the professor.
"How is it going, professor?" He asked.
"I've received some disturbances going on at the Chronicle. One of Grimlord's latest creatures has tampered with the electricity in the building," Horatio updated them.
"Oh no," J.B muttered, indicating a sign of distress over the safety of his teammate. "Have you contacted Kaitlin? Is she alright?"
"I tried to make contact but the phone lines coming from her end are down," the professor clarified. "You and Ryan should head there stat."
"We'll be right on it," J.B complied, hanging up his phone. "We better get to her work site. Lord knows whatever is lurking inside the building."
"Right," Ryan nodded.
J.B turned on the key ignition. With the Troopers strapped with their safety belts, they pulled out of the parking lot just as they're about to hit the road.
Back at the Chronicle, Kaitlin and Electrobot fought competitively in the midst of their heated battle.
"Had enough?" She taunted. For as much fighting spirit she could account for, this method would come back to bite her in the ass. The robot struck back with a magnetic bolt attack that tampered with the suit's operations. The impact caused by this led for sparks to erupt, damaging the outer layer of her armor.
"If you thought you could undermine me, think again," said Electrobot. He stared at the Red Sheriff in her most vulnerable state yet.
"Professor," she spoke softly. Through her helmet, Kaitlin initiated the menu screen for backup. Electrobot observed the Trooper who crouched as far from her foe as possible. Just when she approached the rails, the robot placed its foot on top of her hand. Kaitlin squealed in agony from the pressure applied.
"It's been a blast my friend. Into the bottomless pit of reality you go." Just before Electrobot delivered another bolt attack, laser beams blasted directly at him.
"Ugh who's out there?" He spoke in a disgruntled manner.
"You've done enough harm here, tin head," said Ryan, lowering his pistol.
"If I could, I would destroy you right this instant. But since I am willing to savor my fully charged energy, I shall live to fight another day." Electrobot activated a power module holstered around him, initiating a sequence that transported him out of the building.
"Kaitlin," he cried. J.B approached Kaitlin looking to provide her with the assist. "We better get her back to the lab. Her suit is already banged up by the looks of it."
"Sure thing," Ryan complied. A barely conscious Kaitlin pointed her finger at Woody who remained in critical condition.
Ryan tended over to his friend's supervisor for support. "You're going to be alright."
~Hours Later~
Professor Hart underwent an examination on the damage done to the Red Sheriff armor suit. While the Troopers observed by the sidelines, a distraught Kaitlin was met with a sense of awe following her fight with Electrobot.
