J.B approached a weary and injured Kaitlin sitting comfortably on a sofa. He is seen carrying an herb bowl filled with turmeric to alleviate the wound from her ankle. By providing her with the necessary treatment, he gently rubbed the substance on the outer layer of her skin.

Kaitlin closed her eyes, embracing the pain that soon came to pass.

"Oh damn that hurts," she cursed as a result of the medicine applied.

"I know it stings but it should lessen the pain overtime. Your ankle should be healed up before you know it." J.B managed to reassure his partner. When the process was complete, J.B wrapped the ankle around using a sports bandage from the professor's first aid kit

"I'm surprised I managed to escape when I did. Electrobot and Zelton could've had me for lunch had backup not arrived." Despite her shortcomings, help came in the nick of time thanks to her crewmates.

"Look on the bright side. At least you found a way to pull yourself out from that mess," J.B said, trying to find the positives to come out of such a shaky situation.

"That's a relief," Kaitlin replied. "I hope Juliet is okay. It's bad enough that Electrobot is the reason my boss is at the hospital. He'll be sorry that he screwed with us in the first place."

A drive for revenge became top priority for the Red Sheriff. Having to witness a coworker brutalized by a mutant assailant has left her heartbroken yet incensed. This mind numbing feeling wouldn't last. Kaitlin's eagerness got the better of her when she attempted to stand, but the numbness from her ankle prevented her from doing so.

"Alright, easy now," J.B said calmly, assisting Kaitlin back down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lash out," she apologized. After a brief moment of silence, Kaitlin's motivation for payback turned into a reflection of wisdom.

"Growing up, did you ever believe being a superhero would be all fun and games, even if it was an everyday responsibility?" She asked him.

"That's a good question. I always thought about asking myself as far back to when I was seven," said J.B.

"Jay," Flaunted by her puppy dog eyes, Kaitlin insisted on him to provide a proper answer.

"Alright, there was a point in time where I wanted to imagine having superhuman strength and doing good to help others in some way or another. The thought of giving back to the world had been something I aspired to be," J.B elaborated. "It's hard to believe how much of a reality it's become. But I realized now as an adult to be a special gift that should be used for a greater cause."

"Based from our previous encounters with Grimlord's goons, the picture couldn't be any clearer," Kaitlin summarized to the best of her ability.

The minute J.B threw his arm around her shoulder, Kaitlin's endorphins heightened. It was the kind of comfort and nurture that further eased her troubled mind. Kaitlin cuddled up close, laying her head on his chest. By the campfire, they stared at the ever glowing flame as the igniting charcoal preserved warmth in the living room.

"A famous author quoted 'that person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero'," he recited. "When I'm teaching at the dojo, I demonstrate my Karate expertise passed down from my instructor and inherit that over to my students. Not only paying it forward, but I'm also doing what I can to set a good example for others so they can hold their own in a tough stage in life. It's such a broad definition where I realized it's more than having abnormal strength or rather how you use it."

"You seemed to be unsure if you were capable of leading the team," said Kaitlin, reminding him of his initial insecurity when he was appointed leader.

"Well admittedly I did have a bit of doubt." When it came to critiquing, J.B would not hold back. "I don't want to dwell about the notion of 'never giving up when the going gets tough' mentality. There is truth to that though. We're risking our bodies each time we get into armor. Hell even I'm still trying to find my groove as a VR Trooper. It may be scary going out there. At the same time, we can use fear as our way to develop greater resilience and push ourselves beyond our potential. That's what convinced me to continue studying Martial Arts to this day."
