As Bruce stood there, he noticed how someone was coming towards the window.
His thirst got stronger.Bella Swan was at the window, staring down at him.
She knew exactly who he was. The man that had saved her from a head on collision.
He started at her, without blinking. His stomach was queasy and his throat parched.
But that didn't matter to him.
All he could think about was how imperfectly perfect Bella was.
And how undeniably innocent, and irresistable.
It was then he awkardly put out his hands and waved at her timidly.
She ran downstairs.
He heard that noise again, Charlie's voice wondering why Bella was so hurried.
But the sound was only in his head.
And then he heard Charlie speak, for real,
"Bella where are you going?"
"Nothing dad, just a friend's at the door"
"You've made friends aldready?"
"Nope. Just this one"
She opened the door, and Edward saw how her scent made him feel. Utterly stupid. Grounded. Thirsty yet satisfied. Estranged yet so close.
"Hi" Bruce said.
"OMG Hi...I guess I..I mean....Thanks for yesterday!"
"I guess.. I haven't told anyone...especially my father...but that was really really close" she wispered.
"If you..i mean... hadn't reached in time.....I...you know..wouldn't have made it"
Bruce smiled at her, starting into her alluring eyes. It took him a while to come out of his bliss.
"Yes of course.."
"Bella Swan right?"
"Yeaaa" she replied. "How did you know my name?"
"Oh I heard..um..your father speak a few moments ago" Bruce said. "Its really a pleasure to meet you"
"The pleasure's mine" replied Bella, wondering how Bruce heard her father through the door.Bruce was awed by Bella. He kept his eyes on her.
He laughed gently and took up the courage to ask her: "Would you wanta.......take a walk with me?". "I would certainly love to get to know you"
"Sure" she replied, excitably, and rushed inside to inform her father, as her hair blew in the breeze.
Bruce felt his thirst getting stronger, especially when he was not around Bella.
As if he needed her to keep him grounded,
But he knew inside his heart that his thirst needed to be quenched,
Badly.
But he didn't have the slightest clue as to what would quench it, or the monster he was about to become.
