Of course, since I was the last person with Salem, the one who had their blood all over me, and my fingerprints on the gun as well as a lot more evidence, I was found guilty of murdering my fiance. The weapon was registered under my name, I had gotten it so we could be safe in the neighborhood. After about a year or so of living in the neighborhood we lived in, crime levels rose everywhere, so I decided to get a weapon in case anything were to happen. But apparently, the murderer knew where it was or saw it in the bedroom before killing Salem. I don't know how they would've seen it but either way, no one else's fingerprints were on the weapon except mine. After seeing the evidence against me, there was no turning back, I was found guilty and sentenced to 7 years in prison. My mother was in the courtroom when the verdict was determined, and my heart broke, even more, when I saw her sobbing into my father's shoulder. Salem's mother just looked at me with disappointment and disgust as I was led out of the room and to the police car. I tried so hard to have them believe I was innocent, I tried so fucking hard but there wasn't anything else I could do.
