I didn't get back until gone midnight that night; I was just sat there thinking. I never really get places to just sit and think back home and sometimes it's nice to have 'me time' every once and a while. Due to me being late back though my Grandma had already gone to bed, luckily for me I knew where she kept the spare key.

I brought my hand up to the hanging basket which wasn't too difficult as I am tall as it is, so it's not far to stretch. I quietly placed the key into the lock and twisted using my sneaking out skills for good use. Finally after a long, but careful, twist I heard the familiar small click telling me that the door is unlocked and I am able to go in.

This sounds like some mission impossible shit.

I quickly stepped into the house shutting the door quickly but quietly behind me as I locked it. Small beads of sweat started forming on my forehead from the small adrenaline rush I was having because I knew that answering to my mom was one thing, answering to my Grandma was another. She was like a spitfire on drugs. Seriously you don't want to get on her bad side, especially if you've woken her up from a peaceful sleep. That my dad found out the hard way.

I put my fist up in the air before dragging in down and whispering yes to myself as I completed the first task successfully.

Phase two: Get up the stairs.

I'm really taking this seriously...oh well.

I took my black Vans off placing them next to the shoe rack by the side of the door before trudging my way along the soft beige carpet across the living room and towards the stairs. Okay not much further left to go, just a few more steps and yes! Made it. Now all I have to do is actually make it up the actual stairs.

Wow, that's a lot of reality in that sentence. Right there.

No time to think of the reality of the word actually, you have to move up those stairs now! I thought to myself as I took in a deep breath before lifting my left foot carefully up to the first step making sure it's placed equally on said step so there is less chance of it creaking because my surface area is distributed equally. Who says I don't pay attention in science...or math...or...oh forget it!

I cringed as I made the first step hearing a slight creak but luckily not loud enough for my Gran to hear and wake up. I took the next step but the creaking was louder causing Gran to stir slightly, she was tossing around in her bed.

She's going to wake up soon I can just tell.

Oh stuff it, I thought as I sprinted up the stairs not caring with the loud bangs and noises I made as I shoved my bedroom door open. I misjudged the power of opening to door and instead of me opening it then closing it then making my way to my bed after I got ready for sleep to take over me I ended up opening the door with so much force I tripped over the air causing my face to come into contact with my bed post with enough noise to wake China up.

Well done Evan, well done.

I heard some shuffles and groans before, eventually, Gran came out of her room shouting profanities. "Evan why are you making so mu- Oh my goodness Evan! What happened to you? Your face!" Gran just looked at me in shock as I could finally feeling a numbing pain take across the left side of my lower face before tasting a metallic substance against my lips. I'm bleeding, could this day just get any better?

"I went to the bathroom and as I walked through the door to come back in I tripped over my own feet and went face first into the wooden bed frame," I said some words slurred slightly due to the numb throb of my lips. I brought a hand up to touch where the pain was and retracted my hand immediately as I hissed in pain.
