Author's POV:
"Waste, waste, and waste," Jin exclaimed, pulling out everything Serena had bought for her room while looking at the bill. Serena stood in front of him, her arms crossed, feeling like an accused criminal. Confusion clouded their faces as they locked eyes. Jin's smile, which had initially formed upon seeing the new girl, quickly faded away.
"I know we've just met and don't know each other well, but I'm know that you're facing financial problems. That's why I rented my second room to you at a lower price. You were sincere with me, warning that you might not have an income as soon you moved to Korea. " Serena's gaze lowered as she attempted to comprehend why he felt the need to remind her of her situation. Deep down, though, she understood that he was genuinely concerned about her.
Jin's issue was primarily the exorbitant prices of the items Serena had purchased. They were too costly for her budget. He could have easily found the same things at more affordable prices and better quality. However, he acknowledged that she was new to the country and unfamiliar with the market. He was upset that she did'nt ask his help.
"Why didn't you ask me to come with you ?" the young man asked, shushing his buzzing phone for the fourth time. But Serena continued to look down, trying to escape the situation. However, she couldn't get away from the angry man.
Jin's frustration softened, and he took a step closer to her, reaching out to gently touch her arm. "Serena, you're not a bother to me. We're in this together now. Next time, please ask for my help when I'm available, and i'll come with you," he assured her, his tone filled with sincerity.
Serena's eyes met his, and she could see the genuine care in his gaze. She nodded slowly, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Jin returned her smile, relief evident in his expression. "That's all I ask. We're roommates now, and that means supporting each other through the ups and downs. We'll figure things out together."
Feeling a sense of reassurance, Serena nodded again, feeling grateful for Jin's kindness. "You're right. We're in this together."
With that, Jin left the living room, giving Serena some space to process their conversation. She took a deep breath, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulders. She knew that she didn't have to face her challenges alone.
Later that evening,Serena settled onto her bed after setting up her video projector on the desk, facing the pristine white wall. She indulged in watching a movie, appreciating the imperfect quality that gave it a distinct theater-like ambiance, adding to her aesthetic enjoyment. .
At the same time, Hoseok was also lying down, but not on his bed. He was sprawled across his table, his eyes not closed because someone wouldn't let them close, as we all guessed, it was Min Yoongi. During his first week at work, Hoseok had to familiarize himself with all the cases they were working on. The senior officer spent the entire afternoon going over them, while the new police officer listened silently, yet confused. In his previous police station in a small village, he never encountered any serious cases. The biggest crimes there were thefts or other minor offenses. He realized he wasn't in his small village anymore but in a big city. Yoongi shook his hands in front of Hoseok, waking him up. After hours of listening, Hoseok finally perked up when he heard about a mysterious game that had claimed the lives of several teenagers.
"We still don't know if the game or the phone is the problem in this case, so it remains a big mystery for us," Yoongi explained seriously, walking back and forth while showing Hoseok the evidence and clues. Hoseok took note of what was important for him to work on.
"So you're telling me that these teenagers were driven to take their own life because of a game ?I can't believe this "
Yoongi nodded. "Yes, it's a disturbing phenomenon. The game seems to have a very bad influence, pushing them commit such disturbing acts. But we still have a lot to uncover. We recently go new twist that a woman around thirty years old, was also a victim. However, her method of self-harm was different from the teenagers. She chose to hang herself."
Hoseok's eyes widened in shock. "That's... incredibly distressing. We need to find out more about this game, its origin, and how it's affecting people."
Yoongi's gaze hardened, determination flickering in his eyes. "You're absolutely right, Hoseok. We need to find more about this quickly before it affects more teenagers or adults."
With newfound resolve, Hoseok nodded, ready to delve into the investigation. Little did he know that the path ahead would be filled with danger, secrets, and unexpected twists, testing his skills and resilience as a police officer.
