Yuno: Asta has always done the unthinkable.
A demonic shade emitted from Asta as his shadow.
Revchi: <looks at Asta, frightened> Wh-what is that grimoire?! That sword! Just who are you?!
Asta pulled the sword out from ground.
Revchi: <now annoyed> You little wretch with no magical powers!
Revchi shot his chains towards to Asta. Asta then slashed the chains with his sword. The sword went through them all, nullifying Revchi's magic completely.
Revchi: H-he... nullified my magic?
Asta then bursted to move, towards to Revchi.
Asta: Even without magical powers...
He then pulled his sword backwards, ready to strike.
Asta: ...I'm going to become Wizard King!
Revchi screamed while black sword were reducing the distance between it and its target.
Asta: Not giving up... is my magic!
Asta smashed Revchi to stone wall with his sword while shouting those words.
Asta: <looking at unconscious Revchi> I built up my muscles since I couldn't use my magic. Looks like they came in handy after all.
Yuno: Asta...
Asta looked at Yuno, smiling. Yuno started to look away.
Yuno: ...I'll repay you for this someday. Asta... do you remember our promise?
(flashback; ten years ago)
Yuno: Asta... I'll become Wizard King.
Yuno/Asta: <thinking, in unison> That makes you my rival!
(flashback ends)
Asta: You mean you remember it? I thought you were just making fun of me.
Yuno: I have no interest of being too friendly with my rival. But you are the one who gave me hope. Even if you are a poor, orphan... or even us... we can become greater than anyone else in this world. And to prove that...
Asta/Yuno: <in unison> Let's see who can become Wizard King!
Rengoku were still looking at unconscious Revchi.
Voice in Rengoku's head: All sinners must die.
Rengoku woke up from his trance, and noticed his hand were reached out to hilt of his sword, which lied in his grimoire. He then forced his mind to Asta and bursted into running to catch them.
(later...)
Asta were trainining with his sword and counted his strikes
Asta: ...One thousand!
He then looked his drink.
Asta: Now this drink! <drinks from the bottle> Gross! One more Gulp <drinks again>
He then stopped to relax under the tree and sat down. He pulled out his grimoire.
Asta: <looking at grimoire> I got my grimoire. I'm gonna keep climbing up, even if I don't have magical powers!
Asta then grabs his sword again.
Asta: All right! I'm not done yet! Not even close!
Asta started to hit his sword to the tree again and continued the countings.
Asta: One thousand and one! I'm sure Yuno and Yu is training too! I can't lose! One thosand and two!
Asta was training for the Magic Knights entrance exam, which was to be held in the royal capital of the Clover Kingdom in six months. So was Yuno and Rengoku.
Yuno were chopping logs with his wind magic and put them in the piles, while Rengoku were muttering some unknown words.
Yuno: I should wrap up for today. No, just a little bit more. I'm sure Asta is also... <chops a log> One thosand and one! One thousand and two!
(Later, in grimoire tower...)
In Grimoire tower, grimoire master was speaking with Sister and Father, caretakers of orphans.
Father: You see, I can understand Yuno... But are you really considering allowing Asta take the exam, too? And there is also Rengoku, who got that special grimoire.
Grimoire master: Well, Asta is saying he wants to do it. And what comes to Rengoku, he has clearly the potential...
Sister: That isn't the point...
Grimoire master: ...and he isn't any national treasure to hold on to. Besides, the ones I was counting decided against taking the exam.
Father: Again, I blieve Yuno will be fine, and maybe also Rengoku, if you say so, but I don't think Asta's up for it.
Grimoire master: Well, he's saying he wants to do it.
Father: But it's pointless for Asta to take them.
Grimoire master: Well, he's saying he wants to do it. Actually the idea of Asta going to royal capital just makes you lonely, doesn't it?
Father started to sweat when Grimoire master said those words.
Sister: Aw, Father!
Father: <looking at sister> Th-that's not... I just believe if he's going to fail anyway, he's better of not taking it in the first place. And you know... The little ones will miss him, too. Not me! But they'll have one less person to play with!
Sister just started to smile.
Father: Why are you looking me like that?
Grimoire master patted him on the shoulder, he, too, smiling.
Father: Not you too, grimoire master.
Sister: Well I feel little lonely with Yuno, Rengoku and Asta gone, Father.
Father: Ahem! Well, of course, I raised both Asta and since they were babies, and we found Rengoku from our door when he was about seven. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit sad to see them go. Well Asta might come back anyway.
(the next day:)
Orphans were in the yard to say goodbye to Asta, Rengoku an Yuno, who were leaving to royal capital to take the exams.
Nash: <looking at Asta> If you make it to Magic Knights and that's huge if... I'll believe all possibilities!
Yuno: Well, I'll be off.
Rengoku started walking towards to royal capital with Yuno.
Asta: Hey! Wait!
Asta catched Yuno and Rengoku and they started walking towards the royal capital.
It is summer. Asta, Yuno and Rengoku start their joyrney to royal capital in order to take the Magic Knights Entrance Exam. The royal capital is long way from Hage village.
The following days were full of hunting and sleeping for boys, at least when they didn't walk towards to the capital.
After long and prilous journey, the boys arrived at Clover Kingdom. The Magic Knight Entrance Exam awaits. They will now have to compete many powerful opponents and pass to exam!
