Summary; Y/n and Saeyoung decided to go on a drive to the beach to watch the sunset...}
~ ✮ ~
'How is he this good of a driver?' I pondered as the low hum of the engine and the sound of wind rushing past filled my ears. It was almost sunset, and Saeyoung and I had spontaneously agreed to go for a drive by the beach.
The others hadn't lied when they said that Saeyoung was a good driver- I hadn't known before this just how smooth cars can turn corners if they're allowed the chance to do so. Every now and then I wondered if the wheels were even touching the road.
Saeyoung had chosen his convertible, making sure the first thing he did when he got in the car was move the roof down. Now we had just made it to the coastline, and I couldn't take my eyes off the breathtaking view to my side. I could just barely hear the sounds of the waves softly crashing into the shore, and I was certain I would've fallen asleep if my heart weren't doing backflips because of the red-head sitting beside me.
His eyes were focused intently on the road in front of us, but I occasionally caught him briefly glancing over at me to, I assume, make sure I was doing alright. It was quite sweet, and I felt a small burst of happiness every time I saw it.
Lifting my hand from my lap, I more or less casually set it on the center console. I turned my head towards the ocean, pretending to closely study the line of where the sea met the sky. I waited to see if he noticed.
And he had. Just a few moments later I felt a warm weight curl on top of my hand, gently grabbing onto it. I stole a glance at him and I could've sworn I saw a hint of blush on his cheeks. Saeyoung's thumb started to absentmindedly rub circles on my hand, and I relished how softly his felt on top of mine. Smiling to myself, I continued to watch the waves rise and fall just off the coast.
We took a turn into a small and empty parking lot, Saeyoung parking the car right by the wooden steps that led down to the sandy shoreline. The sun was starting to dip down now, and the sky was turning all sorts of wonderful shades of red and orange. I opened the door and hopped out as Saeyoung slipped the gear into park and got out himself.
I noticed that the beach was miraculously empty as I made our way down the steps, the red-head just behind me with a towel in his hands he got from the trunk. I chose a spot close to the water and we made our way over, working together to lay out the towel before sitting next to each other on top of it.
With the sun halfway down now, I watched with awe at the beautiful scene in front of me. The light spilt onto the water as the sun sunk into it, causing what looked like a trail from just off the shore that called for those who see it to follow it. As the sun finally dipped below the horizon and hues of blue and purple invaded the sky I felt Saeyoung lean towards me.
"I have something really important that I need to tell you." He spoke, and I turned my head towards him with a look of curiosity.
"Oh, alright." I responded wondering what he might have to tell me. I had the slightest feeling of anxiety, but I did my best to rid of it. He leaned even closer until his mouth was right next to my ear, and I heard him whisper into it with a serious tone.
"I love you." Saeyoung leaned back with a grin as I let out a chuckle. I decided to return the same energy and put on my best shocked expression.
"Oh my god! I love you too!" I said with an over exaggerated voice. Saeyoung breathed out a laugh, obviously pleased with my response.
After a pause, with our eyes still on each other, he lifted his hand and lightly held my chin. He leaned in an inch, searching my eyes for permission. I smiled and gently nodded, and as the first stars started to shine in the open sky around us, Saeyoung closed the gap and kissed me.
