Pick-me women annoyed me. Women who revolved their lives around finding a man, pleasing a man, knocking down other women for the sake of impressing a man.

But a woman who was independent, stood her ground, didn't care to impress a man, and wanted him to like her for herself...

That was what I found sexy.

"So, tell me about yourself, Amber," I smiled at her, as I continued to watch her eat.

She let out a giggle, before wiping her mouth with a napkin, and brought her glass of wine up to her mouth.

"Well, I'm a stay-at-home graphic designer. I have a few friends, work mostly consumes my life... I'm not that interesting, really," she admitted, smiling. "My life isn't that interesting."

"Don't say that," I replied. "A woman who works hard for her living, a woman who hustles and grafts, balances her time between leisure and grinding. It's sexy as fuck."

Amber blushed as I said these words. "You really think so?" She let out a low giggle. "I always thought I was a bit boring. I don't really enjoy going out that much... I prefer staying in, binging shows, reading books. That kind of thing."

"There's nothing wrong with not wanting to turn up at the club every weekend," I shrugged. "Everyone has their own interests, babe. And you've got yours. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your idea of fun. You're the last thing from boring."

She smiled at me, feeling warm at my words. I loved that I made her this happy, just by being around her.

Hell, I wanted to make her happy for more and more days to come.

"Thank you," she smiled.

I let out a low chuckle.

"So, tell me about yourself," she said, with her hands on her hips. "I'd love to know more about you."

I smirked.

"I'll be honest with you, I'm not from around this area. I'm from Italy," I admitted. "I came to the UK for a holiday."
