Well, here it was. My home city, and possibly the most famous place on Earth so far, if we didn't count any other cities in the same country with similar things as us.Anyway, Razor City, named for its' tall, razor-shaped skyscrapers, and it's sharp image. I have lived here for all my life, and knew its' every corner and street from outer memory.
It would've been a peaceful place, if it wasn't for the crime and chaos going around every day. And it would've been peaceful for me aswell, if I weren't tasked with the job of getting rid of that crime every single day. No, I'm not a cop. I don't think I'll ever be cut out to be a cop anyway, since the goverment had given out that job for the normies, mostly.
Yeah, yeah, I know.
"𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘓𝘪𝘢𝘮, 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦? 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴?"
Well, you see, it's a complicated thing. I'd love to explain it, but I don't really have the time right now.
I was very busy right now. I was running through Fifth Avenue, trying to reach the next intersection, where I could turn. Heart beating, lungs gasping, feet aching, cars and people flew past by, some yelling, some honking. I could barely see the traffic lights at the end of the street, where a blue-white police car pulled over, lights blinking. A couple of meters left, I could almost reach it...
Then, I could feel as if something -or someone- came over and grabbed me with two big, invisible hands and pulled me off the ground, before rapidly, strongly pushing me to the left.
"Huh- hey, hey! Hey!" I protested, desperately trying to find my footing but failing, miserably. The whatever force it was, now pushed me even faster towards the closest store with beautiful antique furnitures, and before I could say anything to the matter, I crashed through the showcase window and stumbled on the floor, glass shards flying everywhere around me, including on myself.
The forceful feeling left my body, and I lied on the floor, gasping and breathing, trying to recollect myself before getting up again. A quick, red flash swooped past the store and past the intersection, and I knew exactly what and who that was.
