(This chapter is in Magnus's pov) 

The sky is inky black and is illuminated by the occasional twinkling star.The moon acts like a giant beacon of light in the night sky.It's the 14th of April today,but what is so exciting about becoming a year older? You're only getting closer to your death.And Emily's not here with me.Just thinking about her forms a lump in my throat.Lately I haven't been eating,or sleeping and it shows because I have dark circles under my eyes.I stare up at the stars,knowing that Emily's doing the same,like she said she would.But it's probably my subconscious trying to find a way for me to closer to her.

Honestly, what's the point of living?I let Emily die,my parents are dead.I might as well just die today.It's not like anyone would even care anyways.My life would be so much easier, I'd be closer to Emily and all my problems on Earth would disappear.I scan most of the scars I have on my body from all the battling for Emily.I risked it all just to watch her die.I have nothing left,I have no one.I hope today I fall asleep and never wake up.As I'm brooding,I get a call.Who could it be? 

"Who is this?"I demand 

"Hey,Magnus!I got your number from Ajit.Anyways-" 

"Dan Kouzo,if you think I am going to participate in one of your stupid games,you're wrong.Just leave me alone."I spit 

"Magnus,I have no idea about the amount of pain your going through.-"Dan comforts

"How-how did you know?"

"Everything will be okay.Magnus,I don't know if you do but I can count on you like a real friend.I hope you can do the same.I promise Magnus,no matter what happens, I'll always be there for you.Always." The pyrus brawler declares 

"Hey Magnus, don't cry!" 

"I'm not just crying because I'm sad, I'm also crying because no one has actually showed genuine care for me,apart from Emily."I admit 

"Anyways,storm has arrived and is battling us and we need your help Magnus!"Dan mentions 

"Okay, I'll be there!"

I hop off Nillious.I can't see any battle or a drome.What are they up to now? 

I hear some shuffling and giggling.I decide to actually open the door. 

"Happy Birthday Magnus!!!"they chorus . Everyone's there,Dan,Lia,Wynton,Ajit,Shun even China Riot!I blink.there are violet balloons and a midnight purple banner reading; happy birthday.The room is sprinkled with multi coloured confetti. 

"We all did this together,but the credit goes to Dan,who told us it was birthday and planned everything."Riot confesses 

Dan gives me a lopsided grin.I smile back,feeling my a crimson tint creep up on my cheeks. 

"Thank you." I mean,what else was I supposed to say? 

"Dan,Ajit get the cake!" Lia orders 

"Okay!" 

"I'm coming too see as well!"Riot says 

"Me too" 

But Lia hangs back

"Wait you guys got a cake...for me? You-you didn't have to."I say 

"Well,we didn't Dan was so set on making a cake himself.He wouldn't let anyone come near the cake or even enter the room!So you better thank him"Lia  mentions,smirks and then giggles. 

Huh,today I thought was a miserable day,one not worth living.But Dan...he- he took time and effort to plan all this and bake a cake. 

"You know Magnus,I'm really convinced that Dan thinks of you as a true friend.Maybe a bit more!"Lia states 

My face turns as red as a tomato. 

"You think he likes me???"I yell 

"Maybe!" Lia shrugs 

"He does talk about you alot.But he could be just genuinely concerned." Lia informs 

I seriously don't know what to think. 

They all bring the cake and Dan lights the candle.The piping is all shades of purple.The base is white.He even scrawled,Happy 15th Birthday Magnus!!! In black

They sing happy birthday to me.I just stare awkwardly at the floor. 

"Come on,Magnus!Blow out the candle!"Riot encourages 

So I do that. Dan insists on cutting the cake and letting me have the first slice. 

"So,what do you think of the cake Magnus?" Dan asks 

"It's... really good.Oh and thank you for all this.I didn't know you did baking!"I exclaim

"Hah,well it's my first time.But I'm glad you like it!"He replies as he awkwardly rubs the back of his neck. 

I didn't imagine spending today like this, I'm surrounded by people who genuinely care and having the best birthday. 

Today wasn't that bad!
