—————————————————————————- The night air was cool, and the moon competed against the cityscape for utmost brightness. Peter swung quickly, dipping in and out of the sky, flying back down to the bustling state of the world below. It was by far the most freeing sensation in existence, but not when a deafening sounds reaches his ears.
Heart hammering in trepidation, Peter softly landed on a dilapidated building with thick ivy attempting to engulf it whole. Head whirling around frantically, he tried to pinpoint the sound: right below him stood a woman, hands raise in defeat as two, abnormally sized men advanced on her, concealed by the alleys shadows. The entirety of the situation instantaneously lit Peter's senses on fire, and in a flash he swung down, heart pounding. He webbed a man to the side of the building, bits of brick falling from the great impact, and breathed in before doing the same to the other man. Triumphant, adrenaline coursing throughout him rapidly, he stumbled over to the woman, almost giddy at the simplicity of the situation. He webbed them, and she is safe.
"Thank you," She grinned, and adjusted her black coat tighter around her shoulders. Her brown hair was pulled just below her neck, and her brown eyes bored into his, a gleam of something odd vivid in them. Her eyes were glowing.
"So you're Spider-Man, huh?" The woman stepped closer to Peter, and he stepped backwards, a chill running across his spine.
The way she was sizing him up was immensely unnerving, and even more so as she reached into the depths of her pocket, taking out something so astounding Peter almost didn't react. Almost.
She shot at him once, twice, and he could feel the second shot lodge deep within his rib cage. Pain surged throughout him wholly, flashes of agony threatening to overtake his body.
"What the hell lady!" He exclaimed, and looked to his left for a brief moment, petrified at what he might discover, and rightfully so.
The men were gone, and only residual of the webs lay flat to the wall.
