Chapter 1

Liberty's POV

I stumble slightly as the boat sways against the waves, but it's quite relaxing in a weird way. Today is my mums birthday, and mine's in exactly a week, so my dad and sister decided to treat us to a long boat trip-cruise type thing. To be honest though, they could've checked the forecast before booking. Today is overcast and the rain is drizzling down, making spotty patterns in the swirling sea.

I sit down in a spare seat, pulling out my iPod and opening up the hersheys chocolate bar that I just bought from the small shop on board. I tap the shuffle button, and hear One Directions 'Moments' start playing through my headphones. This is possibly my favourite song, although it makes me cry rivers if I think about the concept too much. Turning my gaze to look out of the window at the darkening sky, I hear a loud crash and a medium-tall guy in a black hoodie stumbles down the narrow corridor. Chav.

But wait, he's now hurriedly speaking to a security guard, glancing backwards every now and then. God, he looks so shifty. Good luck to him getting into the V.I.P section, I think even I would have more of a chance than him. Wait what the hell is the guard doing? Why is he coiling back the cliche red rope to let this random guy through? Does he realise that he's guarding the V.I.P's, not the public toilets?

Shaking my head at the guard's stupidity, I turn up the song, getting lost in the moment. For some reason, when I listen to music my mind wanders and becomes more creative than any other time, even if it is only dreaming up a million different ways of how I'm going to meet my favourite celebrities. My eyes find the V.I.P section, and I realise that I can see right in. There's no door or anything obscuring my vision, just that red rope with the posh gold trim stopping me from meeting some rich and famous snobs, and that chav guy. It looks so nice in there. I can see a buffet table with luxury food that's free, not like my £2 chocolate bar that's now beginning to melt in my hands due to the air-conditioning fan above me. The seats look so plush and comfy, and as I stare I know that I'm becoming lost. My eyes remain focused on the red velvet seats as I feel a familiar tingling in my stomach.

'What if' I think to myself, starting to imagine some new, elaborate way that I can meet One Direction 'What if I'm just sitting here, looing sexy, eating a chocolate bar, when 5 guys come out from behind the food table, and they all stare at me. Maybe they'll be thinking 'Damn, she looks hot'. What if they though that about me? What if Niall comes over and starts to beg for my chocolate bar and I play hard to get, snapping off one square and feeding it too him as he grins?' Ok. That's enough.

My fangirl feelings have taken over, and I need to stop thinking of these things before I beleive that they might actually come true. I blink myself out of the trance, coming back to reality. Glancing around the entire boat, or as much of it as I can see, I check for any signs of curly hair, a massive quiff, or discarded spoons. No? Nothing? Fate will bring us together one day for sure. I slap my self hard, trying to get the hopeless thoughts out of my head, and earning a few worried looks. The hoodie guy is sitting with a group of people, looking at me self-consciously, every few seconds glancing down, checking his t-shirt and trousers as if there's something on them. I shoot him a questioning look before my eyes grow wide. I've been staring at him for the last few minutes haven't I. My day-dreaming state, with my head dropped, my clouded over eyes, intense stare and creepy grin most probably, considering what I was thinking of. Wow. I must've scared him.

I drop my gaze, feeling heat flush to my cheeks as I tune into the new song playing on my iPod.

Louis POV

I jerk my head around, just a random movement surveying my surroundings, but it's one movement that I really shouldn't have done considering there's a small group of excited teenage girls sitting at a table across from the bar. I should really be with the boys in the V.I.P section, celebrating the success of 'One Way Or Another', but the atmosphere in there was doing my head in. I had to be on my best behaviour the whole time, and act like every other stuck up celebrity in there, sitting in my uncomfortably posh suit. So yeah, I decided to get some 'fresh air' by slipping on a tracksuit and pulling my hood up covering my forehead, in a vain attempt not to be noticed. It hadn't worked.
