Upgrade

It was early dawn when you and Set left the city, with a small group of soldiers of course. It was a bit enjoyable seeing what lay beyond the city walls for the first time. The dunes were vast and the sun was harsh, but you didn't mind at all, you were used to the sun's heat unlike some of these men who stayed guarding in shaded cool areas around the palace. Seeing them in a new area with no shade or cooling is a bit different since their dragging their feelings at this point, I can say we're about 15 miles away from the city. "My lord how much further?" The captain questioned "A few more miles and we'll be there." "We should rest, for now, we're probably at the halfway point of the temple so we should set up camp here." "And I say we should keep moving, the less we stand here the better. 

Plus you can make camp at the temple once we're there." Geez is kinda harsh, you didn't want these men to suffer any more than they have to so you spoke up. "I think rest for the day is best, if we push any further the men will grow even more tired and starts to slow down the party. If you want your soldiers to be in top shape I suggest we rest." Set had to think for a second and then agreed, "Fine we make camp here. But once dawn hits we set out for the temple." You nodded please with the agreement "Men start making the tents, we're making camp here!" "Yes sir!" "Thank you for speaking up back there." "Of course, I couldn't let you guys die out here on my account. The whole reason we're out here is because of me." The captain nodded when went somewhere in the camp while I sat on a rock drinking a bit of water from my water pouch.

Later on that evening, the night became cold and many huddled around the fires, you, on the other hand, ate alone not wanting to make the soldiers tense around me. Set would have a fit if he saw me around them. After you ate your fill you searched for what supposedly is your tent but didn't see it anywhere. "What are you looking for?" you flinched at the sound of the voice turning around to see Set crossed armed, "You scared the crap out of me!" "So what?" "What do you mean so what! You can give people a heart attack if you keep sneaking up on people!" "Anyways what are you looking for?" "My tent so I can sleep for tonight." "Oh that, you don't have one. Your sleeping in my tent." 'You can't be serious'...you can feel your eye twitch with anger. "Why?!" "Watch your tone with me (Y/N), I have my reasons. Now follow me." you rolled your eyes and just followed him to the large tent in the middle of the camp. 

"Hope you make yourself comfortable." "Yea yea..." "Aww don't be pouty, you get to be around me, isn't that a blessing?~" "More like a curse." Set did a dramatic pose as if he was hurt by your comment "Oh Y/N that hurts you know, you can't be that curl." "I can if I must." "My my, it seems you've grown out of that shell of yours hm?" "If it means standup up to what's right then yes." "Wow, that's different." "Good night." That was all that you said before changing into your nightwear and going to bed. You felt the weight of the bed shift behind you and turned around with Set laying there with you. "DON'T YOU HAVE A BED OF YOUR OWN?!?!" "I thought you might need some warmth so I laid beside you.~ And no this is the only bed for this tent as I intrusted everyone to pack lightly." "You did this on purpose!" "Shhhh, sleep now yell later." "Hmph, better not try anything suspicious." "I won't.~" 

At the crack of dawn, everyone started to pack up and head out and continue your way to the temple. You got tired on the way so you slightly slid back and laid on the saddle resting your eyes. The captain seeing this took your reign and hold on to it so you wouldn't drift away. (How nice of him) Set sees this and gets jealous immediately, all he can do is watch from afar, he didn't want to waste time so he just had to deal with it till they get to the temple.

After hours of non-stop traveling the group made it to the temple, "Alright everyone start setting up camp!" "Yes sir!" The captain got off his horse and before he could turn around Set was in his face. "My lord?" "Don't get so close to them, they are my concern do you understand?" "Yes, my lord." "Hmph." And with that he walked away leaving the captain upset that he can't be friendly toward you, he really liked you, to be honest.

You stared at the ancient ruins that is the temple itself, wondering what secrets it holds. "Well, shall we go in?" "Um, right." Two or three soldiers went with us inside, it was dark, dry, and just full of cobwebs. The ceiling was high and the columns look like they were about to crumble any minute "Spiders really made a home here." Set tuned to you "You afraid?~" "No, I like spiders and scorpions, I think they're interesting." "Now I see why you were called weird." "What? I can't like something??" "No no, that's not what I'm saying." "Then what are you trying to say hmm?" The guards just looked at each other feeling this is awkward for them. Set hesitated for a bit before opening his mouth "Let's just keep going we're almost to the alter room." You just rolled your eyes. You guys finally made it to the alter room, its floors covered with sand and broken pottery. "Light the place and guard the entrances." They nodded and followed their orders "So this is the alter room huh? What am I supposed to do?" "I don't meditate or something, do whatever you have to do."

(Y/N_POV)

I sat in the middle of the room where the glyphs meet and got into my meditation position and concentrated on the energy in this room and the whole temple. Then all of a sudden flashes of light began to blind me as overwhelmed with energy, I felt my body lift off the ground...what happening to me?!

(Set_POV)

I watch as Y/N  was engulfed by light and began to levitate. Their eyes were fully white as if they were possessed which made me worried, I tried to get close but the light barrier bounced off me. All I can do is hope that (Y/N) will be alright after this.

(Y/N_POV)

All I can see is white and nothing else, "Hello?" "Hello, my child." That voice sounded a bit distorted as it sound male, female, and child. "W-Who are you?" "We are you from the past." "What do you mean? Like past lives?" "You can say something like that dear. We are the guidance of those with the all-seeing eyes like us." a male voice spoke, "So like a council or mentors?" "If you see us as such then yes." The child voice "The power you seek is here before you and we see  you as trustworthy with this special gift were about to bestow upon you." the female intervened "It will only take a moment." "Will it hurt?" "Not at all." Then all of a sudden everything went black feeling someone shaking me.

"(Y/N) thank the stars your alright" Set hugged me tightly, was he...worried about me? "Did I scare you that much to make you this worried?" He cleared his throat "I just don't want to wait another 200 years for another seer is something happened to you." "Jerk.." "So did anything happen?" "I think I got an upgrade." I closed my eyes and was able to see further and faster than before "I can past to future now, it's fascinating.." "Well we should get out of here, it's probably nighttime." I nodded and followed him outside.

 But as soon as we got outside everything was a mess and everyone was yelling and running around like madmen, "What going on here?!" "My lord we're being attacked!" "By whom?!?" I saw a feather on the corner of my eye and before i knew it i was swept away off my feet "Hope I'm not too early." "Horus?!" "HORUS!!!! GIVE THEM BACK TO ME NOW!!!" "As if, someone like you don't deserve someone like them, they're too good to be in your corrupted presence." "WHY YOU-" "See ya." And with that, he flew off with me in his arms into the night.
