Prompt: First day/night home with their newborn

This one got a bit long, oops! It's pretty different from anything else I've written, as it includes time travel. The prompt is actually only a very small portion of this story, but my brain was hyper-focused on this idea and nothing else.

Spoiler: Choni has a daughter and her name is Charlotte. She was born 3yrs after S6 takes places.

----------

With a hard thud and a grunt leaving her body, Charlotte landed on the hard ground. She slowly stood and gained her bearings, brushing the dirt from her clothes. The girl looked around, quickly realizing that she was exactly where she was meant to be.

A proud grin crossed her face as she read the town sign in front of her. The Town With Pops. She knew she could do it; with the help of Tabitha and Jughead, of course.

Charlotte pulled on the straps of her bookbag, adjusted them, and started her walk into town. She wasn't sure where she needed to go first, or who would be the person to most likely believe her.

As she walked, she thought things through. She could go to Pop's first, or to Thornhill, maybe the high school.

It was a little warmer than she planned, so she removed the hair tie from her wrist and put her hair up in a high ponytail, feeling it sway back and forth behind her head. After a few minutes of walking, she found the railroad tracks and followed them into town. It looked a lot different than the Riverdale she was from.

From what she could see on her left, the Southside looked like pictures her mom had shown her from when she was young; when Charlotte's great grandparents were still alive.

On her right, the Northside also looked a little different, but not as much. Almost everything looked the same, but the buildings had been updated with fresh paint or new windows and doors.

But on her left, she could see the empty spaces and abandoned buildings that - in her Riverdale - were new buildings. She smiled to herself, proud to see the differences between the two Riverdale's, and what her parents and their friends achieved in the last 16 years.

Charlotte pursed her lips in thought when she came to a fork in the road. She looked both ways and finally decided to head to the high school. It was the end of the school year, and just after noon, so her mom should be there.

She walked up the steps and through the big double doors - the same ones she'll be walking through in another year. She smiles at the realization and quietly walks through the halls, taking it all in.

Her parents went to school here, had some of the craziest and best days of their lives here, met their friends here and now some of them even work here. A proud smile appears on her face.

The bells in the hallway ring and suddenly students are filling the halls. There's jocks, cheerleaders, band geeks, people obviously from the chess team, the emo kids, and the preps; everyone together.

She's about to lift her arm and wave at Britta, only to suddenly remember that this young version of the redhead doesn't know who she is. So she hung her head low, blending in with the crowd of Riverdale High students.

Her mom's office was in the same spot she knew it to be; right between the water fountains and the senior lockers. She took a deep breath and lifted her arm to knock when the door suddenly opened. She gasped and took a step back.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't really realize Ton- I mean Miss Topaz had an appointment."

Charlotte was wide eyed, staring at the woman in front of her. She wasn't expecting her Ma to be here, but she supposed it made sense. The older redhead was dressed in tight red jeans, black heels, and a black button up blouse, her hair in a high ponytail. She walked past the younger girl and down the hallway.
