The days had passed by much faster than he thought they would once he'd gotten started. Everything came together easily until he'd competed all of the tasks and even tested the tracker accurately around town. He'd made the call and the next part of the plan was set into motion. Under the guise of some very clever shapeshifting, he'd sent Gregory into the warehouse, office, and even inside the wolf spider's home to plant all of the bugs. Now he was outside Arackniss' apartment with the equipment to listen and track and an overnight bag. They didn't know how long it would take, so they had planned to just have the four of them living together until they got what they needed. He knocked on the door and it took very little time before it was swung open by the Tarantula, Rumince. The large man stepped out of the way and he passed the threshold to a familiar sight and sound. The melody was soft, but much faster than the last one he'd played for him, and detailed. It was clearly a duet piece that he was taking advantage of his multiple hands for, and the sound filled the apartment with a life all its own. He had to resist a smile, and he honestly didn't know if he succeeded, while he put the equipment down. Rumince came up behind him and his nerves rose once the man reached out to touch him. Slipping away from the touch, he rolled to face the man with a clear look of disdain.
"I gotta check you for weapons. We're not stupid." The man folded his arms and Pentious rolled his eyes. Before the spider could get even remotely closer, he pulled out the blaster in his jacket, and the knife he kept up his sleeve. He waved both at the man and set them down on the bar but the spider didn't let up, indicating that he should spread his arms. Turning to look at his lover, Arackniss didn't seem worried about the behaviour, meaning that this wasn't a part of the punishment, but a part of daily life. After debating heavily on squeezing the life out of the tarantula, he held his arms out and let the man search him. After a quick pat down and a thoroughly odd search of Gregory in his hat form, he was given the hat back. The man nodded and Pentious gently pet the brim of the hat, since he knew his assistant would be traumatized. Pointing to the equipment, he looked to Arackniss questioningly.
"Where can I set this up? Remember it needs to be near a window." The smaller spider stopped playing and stood. He moved to the far wall behind the piano and grabbed the large fabric curtains. Pentious hadn't thought too much about the fabric and had thought it was more of a stylistic thing, until now. The moment the spider pulled the cotton back to reveal an entire wall of windows he couldn't say he blamed him for the floor to ceiling light blockers.
"Literally anywhere in the living room will work for "by a window" I promise." The sass in the statement had him borderline on his lover, if the other two men hadn't been in the room. The goons chuckled and he rolled his eyes, but he watched as his spider walked a path from the window to the cases of equipment he'd brought, and thus himself. Was it just him, or did Arackniss have a sway in his hips when he walked that he hadn't noticed before? Or was his lover teasing him and making this experience much harder? They set up the mechanics for the listening devices and then for the tracker last. The tracker was a tenuous one, since it was tracking a chemical signature as it made its way through the city and was thoroughly dependent on the signature not being altered by outside source. So, if during the shipping process, someone were to spill specific things on it, or rip the label off, it would be useless. Once the set up was complete, he took Gregory off and placed him on the table top beside him, only to replace him with a set of headphones. Calibrating the channels, he made sure he had a channel set up for each device and that they were all working as they should. He could hear minute sound traces of the warehouse itself, the lifts moving the crates, the footsteps of workers walking by, but they were only if they were directly in front of the device. Other than that, the devices were focusing on the voices throughout the warehouse, picking up every word said, even behind closed doors, which is what he had designed them to do. When he was done, he looked beside him and almost jumped. At some point while he had been setting up, Arackniss had sat down beside him and put on the second set of headphones to listen as well.
