𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐 :The Date 🍏

A/N : I was going to write this sooner but I got lazy soo yeah. I'm also trying to write longer chapters (along the 1000+ word mark maybe?) soo enjoy~


You wake up with light streaming through your window. You yawn , refreshed from your sleep. "Oh my Barbatos! I forgot that today is the Windblume Festival and my date with Diluc!" , you panic. You hurry and take a warm bath with perfumes and oils to freshen up. 


~ After your bath ~


"Ah! I smell so good now!" , you say , "But I still need to pick an outfit for the date!". "Oh! I love this f/c dress!" , you exclaim. You set it out on your bed for later. "I still need to pick the hairstyle I want though." , you say , frustrated. "Hmm , I'll do that later , I want to take a stroll anyways." , you say , making up your mind. You dress in a f/c blouse and some brown pants. You walk out the house.


You walk down a path and see an apple tree , seeing it reminds you of your conversation with Venti and your thoughts as you went to sleep. 'I like Venti only platonically , nothing special between us , but I wonder why he was acting so odd yesterday' , you think. You continue walking but you couldn't deny that whenever you thought of the bard your heart would suddenly flutter. 'I don't actually romantically like Diluc but I only went on a date with him since I didn't want to upset him , I hope Venti understands that since I don't want our friendship to be ruined.' 


You started to walk towards Angel's Share to talk to Diluc for a bit about your plans for tonight , but when you got inside you saw that someone else was there too , Venti. "Oh hey guys , happy Windblume Festival!" , you say politely. "Oh hello y/n." , said Diluc , smiling slightly. "Oh! Hi y/n." , Venti says flatly. You look at Venti confused at why he wasn't acting like himself when Diluc distracted you by showing some new grape juice that Dawn Winery was developing. "Oh! Diluc that looks simply delightful!" , you exclaim , awed by how the juice looked. Delightful was hardly a fitting word for it , magnificent was more of a word for it , with its sparkly surface , it was also changing color rapidly , like a overexcited chameleon. "Oh , thanks y/n , Dawn Winery spent months developing this." , said Diluc. "Oh , I don't want to interrupt this 'love fest' , but I have to go." , said Venti , sounding sad and annoyed. "Huh? Venti what do you mean?" , you asked perplexed. "Bye." , said Diluc , perplexed as well. "Bye , Venti" , you said , confused and hurt. 


"What's wrong with Venti? Did you have a fight with him or something?" , asked Diluc perplexed and curious. "Oh , it's nothing , he probably just had a bad morning." , you say , waving it off. 'Why was Venti so mad? Did I do anything wrong? What did I do to make him mad? I just don't understand? Why do guys have to be so infuriating? UGH.' , you think to yourself. "Hey is everything alright?" , Diluc asks , seeing the look on your face. "Oh , nothing." , you say through your teeth , thoroughly irritated with guys. "You know what. I need to go." , you say , standing up abruptly. "Ok? Bye." , says Diluc , confused. You walk out the door leaving behind a really confused Diluc.


You walk down the path , not looking where you were looking , you crashed into Venti. "Oh. hello Venti." , you said , thoroughly vexed by him at this point. "Oh hello , y/n." , Venti says , sounding similarly annoyed. "I hope you haven't forgotten your promise that you would spy on my date for me." , you say. "I haven't forgotten about it , I hope you and your 'boyfriend' have a great date." , said Venti bitterly. "He isn't my boyfr-". "I don't care" , said Venti bitterly , cutting you off. "Okay then , I'll be going now." , you say angrily , walking away. "Fine!" , he says , "I just hope you won't regret this...". You sneer angrily and say , "Oh really , is that what you think of what I'm doing?". "Then FINE , we won't be friends anymore!" , you shout angrily at him , finally turning away. 

As you walk down the path you feel a bit guilty but who cares? It's not like Venti was the one being nice , he was being a jerk , acting like your stupid date with Diluc was a big deal. But you did feel really guilty about everything , Venti was your only friend and you would miss him. You couldn't procrastinate though since you had a date to prepare for.


You rushed home with a heavy heart and started to get ready. You put on the dress that you had chosen , you put your hair in an elaborate bun , you put on some jewelry , and you looked in the mirror. You decided that you liked how you looked and went to Good Hunter to meet Diluc. You saw Venti hiding behind a wine barrel and breathed a sigh of relief. You had thought that since you guys had fought that Venti would back out on his promise , but apparently he didn't.


You saw Diluc walking towards you , so you quickly composed yourself.  "Hello y/n." , greeted Diluc. "Hi , Diluc!" , you said. "Shall we proceed with our date?" , asked Diluc. "Oh , sure!" , you say. You and Diluc sit at your table in silence , you order Monstadt Hash Browns and Diluc ordered some Mondstadt Grilled Fish. While you are eating Diluc suddenly says , "Do you really like me?". "O-of course I do" , you say , taken aback by his sudden question. "Ok..." , says Diluc. You and Diluc eat the rest of your meal in silence. When you and Diluc are done eating , he invites you to his manor. You accept the invitation and you and Diluc go to his manor.


~At Diluc's manor~


You and Diluc finally reach his manor. He gives you a tour and you are in awe of the luxurious surroundings of his manor. You and Diluc hang out on his balcony and chat. You see that Venti has followed you and Diluc to the manor , and you were pretty relieved that he still followed you. Suddenly you felt the ground rush beneath your feet , and you slipped. You had fallen off the balcony , Diluc tried to reach you but he failed. You were falling.........falling.....fall....ing. You felt someone catch you but you couldn't see who it was , then the world fell into darkness you blacked out.
