Should've Brought An Umbrella

Arthit's POV

A light shake awakes me by the window as I try to open my eyes. My body feels heavy.

"Arthit, wake up." Is that Knot?

What is Knot doing in my condo right now?

"Sit up straight. You need to drink this," I am then assisted by Knot's gentle hands.

At my bed there are a tray of foods that I'm not much familiar with and a cup of, what I assume, soy milk.

I turn around for a moment and see a blanket and pillows lying on the floor. Did I sleep on the floor last night? But I was just with Kongpob, having lunch.

"Eat this and take a shower. We are leaving at ten." Huh?

"Wait, wait," I stop him from whatever he was doing at the kitchen area. "Leaving for what?"

No one has the right to wake me up and ask me to go some place else at eight in the morning.

"Ai'Knot! I'm waiting!"

Then Knot gives a blank, dull face that I have never seen before.

Have I missed out on anything?

I try to keep both legs on the floor as I wait for my best friend's answer.

"Have you forgotten? Kongpob's burial is today. You need to go wash up."

Kongpob's what now?

My body dramatically fell hard on the floor.

Am I hearing this right?

Kongpob's funeral?

I was with the guy a second ago. It can't be.

I look back at Knot and see him dressed in a black suit and a red tie was lightly wrapped around his wrist.

And then it all hit me.

"Sorry, but you're not allowed in the room."

"That's my boyfriend, you motherfucker! Let me in!" I shouted with full effort and my hands reach out for Kongpob.

"Arthit, calm down," Knot's gentle voice is not being of help at all.

"The nurses will have you informed after the thorough check up." With that, the curtains closed right before my eyes.

But my hands are too stubborn as I continue reaching out to him, trying to get a touch to see if he's, at the very least of all, still breathing. "No, Kongpob, no!"

"Arthit, let's go," Bright was the one to block my view and I had to give him thousands of slaps just to get away.

"Kongpob is in there! I have to be there!"

"Arthit, we can't be there."

"I don't care! Kongpob's weak. I have to be there with him, please." I begged as if the whole world is collapsing right before me.

My knees start to fall to the ground on its own. I try pulling the hem of Knot's shirt, begging and pleading for me to see Kongpob at his state right now.

"Knot, please."

I lost control of myself as J was carried by them to the waiting area.

I can still see the busy hospital, and how people in white are rushing towards Kongpob's curtain.

"Car accident," I heard a doctor announced.

My tears wouldn't stop from falling as I curse the whole fairies for not keeping my baby safe.
